Say whatever you want about the prequels, the music remains iconic. Across the Stars is just beautiful.

liteoner ........I agree, I often listen to it. Also Duel of the Fates is an undeniable classic, and possibly the best piece of music of the entire prequel trilogy

The thing you get when seeing these score reductions is how consistent John Williams’ counterpoint is - it adds such warmth and depth to his scores, and is part of what makes him the best.

I actually don't mind the sand remark. It's Hayden's reading that makes it infamous. It kind of makes sense that a little slave boy from a desert planet would spend his adult life using lasers and his lightsaber to fuse that sand into glass.

Awesome - as always. This kind of underscore study really sort of emphasises a point I think - that you don't necessarily need a 'chord progression' in order to keep things moving forward, noting the part where anakin talks about sand for some reason, maybe its a Jedi chat up line - who knows. Anyway, interest without too much movement.

I never realise how cringe it is without the music. People always tell me that a musical masterpiece never save a really bad movie. John Williams proves them wrong.

In fact 'I don't like sand' is a quote from a deleted scene from the Return of the Jedi. Lucas probably thought it would be funny to use it there. He never thought how angry it would make some people...

Wonderful work - I love what you do regarding scoring analysis and the presentation of such on the 'page'. The only thing that spoils it for me is the crap movies that often go with such wonderful music - the sickly, overly emotional, shallow garbage. (Ooops - now I've done it!) It would be great to see you do similar with something like a Rachmaninoff piano concerto - or, Berg's violin concerto - yay!!!
