The "AI" auto caption tool youtube uses is extremely far behind state of the art. You can test this yourself: clip a small portion of a "difficult video" and upload it to any of the cutting edge multimodal AI and ask it to analyze and transcribe the words. Most latest AIs will do a much much better job than YT. Just realize that YT is a very shitty platform that cuts costs everywhere and cuts into profit of creators everywhere. @@zxbc1 You're right. I used to type captions for movies and ads. I was paid for my accuracy and speed. AI CAN do a super job if the speaker is facing the camera and speaks clearly. But YT cuts costs and low-quality captions are one of them, as you said. Around 2 or 3 years ago in UK, the then-Conservative govt sold all personal NHS medical data of the UK population to private US medical companies. It wasn’t well-publicised, but if you knew about it, you had option to OPT-OUT by returning an opt-out form to your local surgery, and also calling a number to opt-out of digital transfer of your personal medical data. So it seems opting-out is the new norm when it comes to govt - something I don’t agree with
