I changed from sisterlocs to knotted locs over a year now. Best decision for my hair. Re tightening 3 times a year allow my hair to be free and for scalp to rest. I have more body. And my locs stay separated. I was always told that with sister locs my hair would break if i did not retightened every 6wks. I retightened 3 times a year now and my hair does not break because my hair is now resting and it gained more strength and not so weak now. Thank you Melissa for creating an alternate. ❤❤❤ ❤❤

WELL. AS a person following Melissa when she was a SL consultant and had the Bespoke hut with M&H as the amazing locing duo...I can say that her own hair looks richer, fuller and more vibrant NOW than it did back in the day... the important thing for people to realize about any type of loc is that it is NOT a hair style, it is a hair STATE. Melissa is offering an alternative to those who place strong emphasis on strong, healthy and happy hair and follicles. A style is a manipulated, temporary look. I approach my decisions very cautiously but am trending towards knotted locks. It took me years to get SL even though I did them. I have had no problems yet ( 9 years in) but I know for a FACT that manipulation of hair with a tool that rips through the anchoring hair and pushes on the scalp every 6 weeks is NOT optimal in the long run. SO I AM Knot curious..right now I am pushing reties to every 10 weeks..but I keep watching Melissa and all the gorgeous heads under her guidance. Love you Ms Melissa!
