I did the same thing. I don't think it was quite a year. But pretty close. Life happened for me as well. With the quarantine I took the opportunity to get it done. I did consider cutting them. Also, I taught my 14 year old daughter. And she helped me. I think I'll pay her from now on and keep the $$$ in house.

Love this comment Tara, the fact that you allowed quarantine to be a teachable moment for your daughter AND a way to keep the 💵 within the household is what is all about! And yes life definetly happens to us, which is why the journey is so up and down with having such small locs to maintain. Thanks so much for this comment Tara, one of my favs🖤, and thanks for watching🙂!💖💖💖

You are gorgeous! It is meant for me to find your channel I am so greatful! I literally was just on the phone with my mom last night and told her I wanted to shave my head bald. I am in the midst of another health crisis currently battling a migrane for the past 3 weeks monday will make a month STRAIGHT! I have 3 young children and its beginning to crack my sanity. I've had my locs for almost a year in January I have approx. 680 locs. I am so lost, dont know where to start im pushing my retie now its been 4 months or so. I need HELP BAD, IM DOWN BAD. SOS!!!

Hey Lakiela! 👋🏽...goodness a month straight of migranes yikes! I’m definelty late on this reply but first and foremost I hope you definelty are in better health and that migraine has exited the building! As far as shaving your head, trust me girl do no get discouraged! I’m literally on month 4 now since I last retied my hair and I’m having a moment myself like I DO NOT want to deal with this self retie! But I refuse to go to a Loctitian right now because of the state of things so I’m going to start little by little, section by section. If you can just do that hun...even if is 20-25 a day, in a month you will have retightened your whole head! Small steps babygirl, defeat the dips in the journey...you got this! 💕💕🙂

This is could not have come at a better time. I got my locs installed in Feb. 20 and only was able to get my first retie in March 20. It's August and I haven't been back to get a retie. It doesn't seem like I'll get back to my consultant anytime soon as COVID numbers are raising here in my State. So I went through and 2 strand twisted them this week as some of the locs root to loc ratiomade me think they would break. Also the intermingling was out of control! Thanks for encouragement! Your hair is beautiful!

See this is why I do these videos Renea, for lovely beauties like you who just need that little extra “ummph” to get through those hard moments during this SL’s / ML’s journey...Covid really put a big hammer on many who go to loctitians and consultants for reties and it’s unfortunate, but the great thing is we do have the ability to take on the challenge of retightening our own locs. I know you did what you think is best for your locs and honestly this just might be your turning point to take over your own reties!!🙌🏽. Just stay in there hun and keep going on your loc journey whereever it may lead you! 💪🏽💖

Your hair is sooooo beautiful & I admire how great your hard work turned out. I came here in the hopes that I can get some tips on what I can do about my hair, which is in a waaayyy worst condition than yours was & i wonder if it can even be saved at this point. Like you, my last retight appointment was in August 2019 & here it is almost the second week of November & I still haven't gotten a retighened! That has weakened my already damaged hair even futher. I can also tell you that I have many of the locks not just trying to grow together, but several locks already have 4 to 6 locks solidly locked together & the worst part is I can't even cut them a loose because they are also held together by a small or large knot that I have not been able to get untangled at all & that's why I'm not sure if I can keep this hair. But congrats on the great job that you did with yours & keep up the good work 👍🏾👏🏾
@LaZy3LocD
@LaZy3LocD 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Deborah! So all hope isn’t lost love, if worse come to worse just split those locs that solidly combined. I would even go as far as cutting those locs out completely. Trust me as your hair grows out you won’t even miss them. I hope you don’t let them go. Just take little sections even if is 10 locs a day and slowly start to self retie them. In no time you’ll be done and feel SO relieved! Best of luck Deborah, and you definelty can do it!!

West Caln Township, PA. I decided to grow out my locs to start again. 😌 I maintained them every four weeks. They are so small, which wasn't bad when they were short, but with my hair half way down my back and I'm starting to loose them every time I wash my hair. I started retightening my own locks after I escaped the US to SE Asia. There is a Loctition there, but it's so easy. I have all kinds of instruments, but my hair grows straight so I might just forget retightening altogether. My hairs so fast and this is very bothersone. I popped off a lot of locks, too because they are so small.

I got anxiety just watching this 😂 I’m quite obsessed with having to do as little as possible but that’s because I’m always on time for my reties. Covid lockdown was bad enough with my self reties, couldn’t wait to get back on track with my consultant. You’ve got plenty hair and I can imagine that fullness at the root of your head is what so many love and want. I like your relaxed attitude and approach, opposite to me but refreshing and I can appreciate it. I’d love to see this vs retie, I feel incomplete 😂😂 Oh and congratulations on becoming a mother ❤️👌🏿

Lol Leecey trust me this retie is a darn mission right now 😂😩. I admire you keeping on track with your reties because that’s gonna keep you ahead of the game!💪🏽..sometimes I think maybe I should get back on a retie schedule but then I say “nah I’m good” then pay for it at the end 😂...don’t worry I’m gonna update you all on this whole retie journey so keep a lookout❗️...and thank you for your congrats on my motherhood 🤗💖, a whole seperate journey on its own but I’m loving every second of it!😍

@LaZy3LocD
@LaZy3LocD 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Queen👋🏽...hun ima tell you right now do not get discouraged on your thinning! The BEST thing you did was braid and combine them for the time being. The cool part about what you did is that once your hair begins to grow out, you you can always re-split the loc at the root and recreate the base to build the loc back up healthier and stronger...stay encouraged! -1️⃣🖤🥱⛓⛓

U have thick hair. I have thin hair. So my sisterlocks breaks off when not done. Im having a hard time right now. Is there any suggestions to make my hair thicker and stronger so it doesn't break off when it's done on a consistent basis?
@LaZy3LocD
@LaZy3LocD Жыл бұрын
Hey Sparkoyle👋🏽…so I do have to say I’m not a loctitian so I can’t really give you the best answer for your hair situation…BUT if I were me (lol) I would wolf out as much I can while still separating my locs so they don’t combine just so I could recreate a thicker base and maybe just combine and split locs where is needed. I hope is not too confusing.🤞🏽

Heyyy! Love you hair. Haven’t retightened in 9 mths due to lockdown. Haven’t washed in 9 moths either 🙈🙈🙈, as I only wash just before my retightening appointment. Now I’ve lost about 5 locks, my hair is superfine so the matting is serious and a few are hanging by literally 1 strand. I want to wash now but I’m scared the ones hanging will fall off for sure OR worst still my hair will matt together even more .... any advice???? anyone????
@LaZy3LocD
@LaZy3LocD 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Olu!👋🏽...so the first thing is you need to wash and separate your locs, I have a video you can watch on that. But the separating is tricky since your hair is superfine so your gonna really have to spend time with it or even get someone to help you in the back. your probably gonna lose some more locs because of the slip of your hair being wet so be prepared for that. If you retigten your own hair, what I would do depending on how big your microlocs are, the grid and thinning, I would just combine those locs that broke off.or you can just start new baby locs. Your locs will be fine just needs some TLC, but first let’s get the separating under control ✂️...hope this helps Olu! 🤗💕💕

@@LaZy3LocD I wrote a really long reply and then went back to edit to find it had disappeared 😱. But thanks for your reply I appreciate the encouragement, now I feel it’s not that bad.... never thought about just doing baby locs where needed and reattaching if possible. My loctitian is quite good so will see. I have washed my hair and I have separate AND lost a few. Looks like I’m going to lose a few more but hey, it is what it is. My 2 attempts to retighten myself was a complete disaster! Not going there again . Thanks 🤗🤗🤗
