I played through this just after it came out. I thought it was a really good video game until I got to the scenes where the doctor diagnoses Arthur's TB. At that point I realized it was something really special and amazing. Prior to that point in the game, I wouldn't say I was rushing through it, but I was definitely moving right along. After that, I really slowed down and moved more slowly through the world and through the missions, wanting to meet everyone, wanting to do everything, wanting to see everything. I know longer even think of RDR2 as a video game. It's so much more. It's like a novel, and a movie, and a poem, and a photograph, and a song, and long journey through new country where horror and beauty swirl all around all at once. There are many more amazing experiences in Arthur's world still to come for you. Thanks for sharing your travels with us and giving us the chance to see it all again with fresh eyes.

Very small particles, known as superfine particles, just hang in the air for a very very long time. If an area becomes too concentrated with the powder in the air then they can, and do, spontaneously combust. It can blow if there is an open flame or sparks in the area, but most commonly it's due to static electricity created from the friction created between the particles themselves, if procedures are not in place to prevent it from happening. In the game the sugar itself is not superfine, but if you have ever poured sugar out of a container and saw a puff of powder, that's the size of the particles we're talking about. Granaries, flour mills, and sawmills have been blown up due to this effect, and I imagine it's probably happened in a lot of other industries as well. The use of air blowers/proper ventilation and/or water sprayers(when applicable) are used to keep the superfine particle clouds from forming in the first place.

Fun fact about Guarma - at one point in development they wanted to include the whole island and it was HUGE. They added bounty missions, mayan temples, volcanos, mysteries, collectables, it's all still in the game files. Over the years the island grew bigger and bigger, at one point they even wanted to include multiple islands (there's even a map you can find online). But sadly 99% of it was cut from the game cause they run out of time.

This moment in this game is such a gut punch. The writing. The acting. It's perfection. That vision that Arthur has, seeing the Deer, or the Buck, or whatever it is, is just so powerful. To me, it seems like Arthur is getting the recognition that he's a bad man who's done horrible things but he's not a bad man. He's pulling away from all of that. "We're bad men but we ain't them". There's a reason why the game is called "Red Dead REDEMPTION". It's about who seeks redemption and who doesn't. It's also about who is worthy of redemption and who is not. Arthur and Micah are the complete opposites of each other. That's good writing because in creative writing you need characters who are opposite of each other because that creates natural conflict which is what makes the story compelling.

The episode in Guarma has some basis in reality. Two American bank and train robbers known as Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid of the famous "Wild Bunch Gang" were rumored to have fled to Argentina and then to Bolivia, never to be heard from again. They were believed to have been killed by the Bolivian military, but it's never been confirmed. Tuberculosis was pretty fatal until the 40's, but they had been working on cures since the 1850's. Also one last thing, if and when you ever replay this game, like on your pc, just take a few hours to go around and do all your hunting, making your packs and outifits, and as many of the camp upgrades as you can while you're at the first camp by Valentine. Then you'll have them the rest of the story and you won't regret it.

Apologies if this is a long ass comment, but i remember you saying in the last video about negative comments and how you should be playing the game. 1 piece of advice, try not to read or react to those kinds of comments, how you play is how you play, this is your playthrough, not theirs and i find that you take in the full beauty of this game by just wandering around and you get to see some amazing visuals and get a lot of the best interactions doing it this way too. A lot of the side quests do have a baring on the main story, as it was one of them that caused Arthurs condition, not that it was preventable, but a lot of people didnt realise how he caught TB. Please don't ever feel pressured into playing a game differently because of negativity, your true subs watch you playing for your reactions and because you actually absorb the story and side stories, which means to me that you are genuinely interested in the whole game, not just the main story. This game will live with you for a long time because of how well written it is

I always loot in the Guarma area all the dead troops...it helps resupply you easier as well as sometimes gets items that are very needed, like health

Hey Cam. This chapter was tough but you need to see Arthur's story through to the end. It will be bitter sweet but Arthur deserves to live life to the fullest. I actually loved this last quarter of the game despite the inevitable dark cloud hanging over me and now you. Time to make the wrong things, right 🙂

Oh, the diagnosis episode. Right after the bank job episode. I feel for you. RDR punches hard.

Fun fact: Arthur reacts differently to smoking before and after his diagnosis. Before it, he'll inhale and exhale the cigarette without a problem. After it, he'll inhale but will cough violently on the exhale. Also, in theory, Arthur may have been able to survive his TB if the gang had been able to go west. The western half of the game is in the desert, which would've provided the warm dry climate the doctor mentioned. I'd also assume the rest of the gang could pick up the slack to give Arthur time to heal. Not a guarantee but people have survived TB before modern medicine by living in the desert and taking it easy.

Every time over the last few videos you have mentioned that Arthur seems like he keeps losing weight even though you felt like you were feeding him so much... I was just waiting for this video when you found out what had been happening. 😟 TB is still deadly if left untreated now, but back then when the game is set there was no treatment and something like 80% of people died. Btw, I love your playing style. As someone who has played it many times and for a ridiculous amount of hours, I still had never read everything in his journal and you still stumble across encounters I have never seen yet. I love this game so much (my favorite game of all time still), and I just love watching people play it for the first time as it's as close as I can get to playing it for the first time again. I can't imagine I'll have that same feeling for any other game again in my life. So, keep playing how you want to play and though I know it's hard to do, just let the complainers complain and keep watching those ads to put money in your pocket. 😏

Oh boy it looks like you made a lot of progress in this video. I better get my tissues. Edit: I was glad you were able to keep the music in on the ride back to shady belle. I think everyone loves to chill and just listen to it. (and run over random strangers along the way in cinematic camera😂)

After you leave from the doctor's, you hear Edith say he didn't have a choice he was good and he did good. Arthur Probably thinking thats where he got his sickness. Love the playthrough.

Hey! You did continue playing it. Cool! Well, this is where the game goes from good to masterpiece and the Redemption part of the title kicks in. It's a roller coaster of emotions from here on out but damn is it worth the pain. Looking forward to your next uploads, not because I enjoy seeing people be sad, but because I felt so much while playing this game and I enjoy watching others experiencing the same masterpiece I did.
