I hated the 9 to 5 job being trapped by the golden handcuffs. I too left job this year. Time is flying. I still can't get it where's all time is gone. I see work as great. People can also want to work part time because they maybe a practicing or freelance writer, Web designer, artist, illustrator, inventor, photographer, DJ for example. Considering most people try and keep fit as well, that's quite hard to do around a full time job, which is quite energy draining, plus there's the commute, which in some cases can be very frustrating and time consuming, if you are a creative type. Sometimes full time can work if the shift starts and finishes early, but there needs to be some recovery time before doing anything else.

Less is more. Same with work hours. Full-time work (when you are not doing something that you love) is an energy and time zapper. If you cannot bargain, you are a slave. It is better to freelance part-time doing something that you love, and earning less, and you end up manifesting more abundance for things that you otherwise would have had to pay for. Surprise wins have manifested. You have way more free time, even for the simplest things that bring so much joy. It is nice to travel when I want. I quit my 9-5 job two weeks ago. When you work the 9-5 you need more, and that money quickly gets zapped up on unnecessary cocktails and the like for "stress relief." Actual inflation is eating up that high salary anyway at the moment. Not worth it. I do not miss those cocktails either. You've got this.

Thank you so much for yr video, needed just in time. Starting my part time job next month but my decision met with alot of naysayers and critics...but i knew if i don't do this or try, i may not even have enough time to hone my skills to become a better busker. I am so depressed. My life is just passing me by, no time to actually do the things i want to do in life, cuz of work. I cant seem to find a job i love so it doesnt feel like working.. Never chose to live in a world where having a fulltime job is priority. I m so tired and exhausted of my life. Grateful to have a son or i just wouldnt be able to push through. Working for the majority of your day, week, month, life feels so so unnatural and toxic to me. So depressed.

Problem in Portugal is that most companies won't give a lot of opportunities to part time jobs. Most are for very specific qualified jobs or really low end low paid jobs. This last won't pay you enough for basic expenses such as food and shelter... Personally I would love to work part time because even if you loke it, 12hours a day away from home and your relatives is wasting our life and time with our loved ones. Life is too short and money can not buy time or make it go backwards.

I decided to work freelance just to keep my freedom.... and do enjoy the rest of my time . Full time for me its killing surelly society untall this idea of work to pay clothes to pay bills to pay .... even now im trying to cut all unnecessary costs which causing waste of my energy and time . Honestly have you ever think who created this plan to study 24 years or 18 years than get job than get married than babies.... than die .🤔🤣 I'm not lazy just im trying to find myself in logic way . Surelly when it comes to work to survive and to pay things which not important and every month is the same or to feel secure with job sometimes I feel animals they enjoy more than us surelly birthds no visa no home rent to electricity no water bills 🤷♀️

The challenge I find with working part time is that I would be given the same amount of work but I would have less time to do it. This would make working part time even worse than full time as I would then become overwhelmed and stressed. Currently I have a fulltime job working remotely where I am measured on my overall outputs which I find works really well.
@AntoniatheUniverse3 жыл бұрын
Love to hear from you, Ben! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this! I think your version of the story is great too.. It's a little stressful sometime to be measured by output, but in the case of building pressure on you to crunch your work when you have fewer hours it actually fits. Maybe someone pays just as well without measuring your output? Still, having your job be remote and relaxed probably wins this competition. I am happy for you!

The thing about not worrying about the future is something I still have to learn. In itself, I am satisfied with how my life is going at the moment. Because it went the last 2 months badly because my cat was sick (or is sick, she is already older and because I had worried about changes, thank God, it was determined in time that she has a thyroid hyperfunction, where she is now adjusted to meds). But I had friends I could rely on. And I realized that there are always ways and I try not to be so ashamed to depend on others for help. On the contrary, I just try to be a help to others as always ^^. You should try to make the best of this life and even if you sometimes (often) must do things you do not like, one should generally pay attention to the fact that a good balance is a must >

Very few people “want” to work full time. Do you plan on working part time until you die? What happens if you get injured or have a life changing illness and are not able to work? How will you pay for food and rent? What happens when you are 70 and no longer have the energy or ability to work part time? This is why most people work full time, have health insurance, pay a house off over 30 years and save up so they don’t need to work at all when they are elderly. I’m not saying either way is right or wrong but when you are young and healthy, it’s easy to not plan for the future but then one day you wake up and thirty years have gone by.
