Finally an anatomy video that's easy to understand 😭
@Murimz4 ай бұрын
if you find other anatomy videos too confusing then you might just not be at the level where it is beneficial to spend time learning anatomy over practicing fundamentals especially form and perspective. its also evident from not only my own, but my colleagues experiences that even if you spend a bunch of time drawing poses every day, you may not improve if you are simply autopiloting and not thinking about rhythms, form, proportion, etc. either way the most beneficial drawing advice is draw what you like, even fi its slow as hell compared to doing the boring but beneficial stuff, atleast ittl keep you drawing and provide mileage.
@Zanzuki934 ай бұрын
@@Murimz yeah that is something i never understood pro artists say draw cubes, cylinders, and spheres but also draw what you like. I would think to myself but then i won't get good at the fundamentals so my art will still look bad.
@Murimz4 ай бұрын
@@Zanzuki93 drawing what you like is so that you can keep having fun while drawing. Practising fundamentals and drawing from reference is how you improve. Mileage is also important as it is how you learn to better handle your tools and lay down lines ( how you go from chicken scratch mess to clean, intentional lines). If anything think about it like a sport, when youre in the game thats the fun part. But if you want to get better at the game then you have to do specific drills ie: working on fundamentals. But also dont forget that you also do have to play the game once in a while, since many artists get stuck doing endless studies and practice but never take on and finish an actual project.
@Lighto4304 ай бұрын
@@Murimz Hey sorry for the late reply. And thank you for the advice. Do you know any good fundamental form and perspective tutorials that I could look at? I noticed that even when I draw things I like I'm not improving as much as I would want which can be frustrating. So I would appreciate it if you could let me know what sort of videos worked for you.
@Liper214 ай бұрын
@@Lighto430hey, I know I’m not the one you asked but I tried to find a few videos that I think might help with some art fundamentals / where to get started! You maybe need to check the drawabox channel because you can find some important skills of fundamentals of art before you skip those things that are too hard to do draw. Like for example: Why is the hand or other body parts are hard to draw? Why is my drawing on body anatomy so bad? Why is the dynamic poses of figures are hard? To complete these you need to check them out the channel I mentioned, but after you understand them it will be easier to draw complicated things you can't.

Great video, I'm so glad I discovered your channel with it !! The last advice is a really good one I actually rarely see in videos. Knowing your body joints and how they turn will help you know if theres anything unnatural in your drawings. Also, knowing all the muscles and bones of the body is not ultimately necessary but again, knowing where they cross each other and the directions they go in (like the upper legs points toward the inside because that's the direction the bone goes in) will help you get a sense of what works better and you'll be able to deduce where each element should go. This alone won't help though, you HAVE to study different poses to have a base to work with too. I don't like that neither to be honest, that's why I don't study that much and I often just draw the part of the pose that catches my interest the most to avoid being bored. And it works just fine. Don't put too much pressure on yourself because of anatomy. Find whats works best for you. May it be just drawing one arm in different angles or 100 poses a day
