Thank you. You are so good at this, a side hustle could be showing people that are wanting to move to FL, but unsure where to move. I'm just starting to look at FL, & your channel offers a lot!! Good solid person, knowledgable & helpful😂. Thanks again. Oh, just found your channel today!

My best friend growing up in high school was a member of the “gilded class” so I got a peak into at least the lower end of that world. In his family, they were mostly the “working stiffs” of the gilded class - doctor’s, lawyer’s, and such. Actually, the two people in their immediate circle who had the most cash were a dentist (apparently dentists make a killing compared to medical doctors - they just don’t get the prestige) and a woman whose husband was a pilot for Northwest Airlines who was killed in a plane crash and she got a huge insurance settlement. The next step above the “working stiff rich” tended to be people who had an idea, built a business, and then sold the whole shebang out to a major corporation once they had grown the business as far as their skill level and pockets could take them. One had a company that made metal pots and pans, and another was a guy who invented these highway barriers you see around that are actually just a series of big plastic containers that hold varying amounts of sand so that when a car hits them the lids pop off one-by-one, spraying the varying levels of sand out, and absorbing most of the impact of the crash. The next level above those folks I never met, so God only knows how much money they had……..😂

liked "working stiffs of the gilded class" So true.

@@pumpupthevolume4775 I know that group very well. What is sad is they are so caught up in their medical practice, speaking at medical conferences, etc. that they never get to enjoy the fruits of their labor. They usually have alcoholic wives & spoiled brat kids who spend hundreds at the mall every weekend. I have been retired a while - they probably don’t even go to the mall & instead blow thousands through Amazon, LOL.🤑

Like your channel. I've traveled those roads a thousand times. Moved to Lauderdale-By-The-Sea almost forty-five years ago and after a couple years moved back to New York State. Hated it and couldn't stop thinking about Florida so moved back here to South Florida and I have been here since . Moved to Boca 35 years ago and then moved to Delray Beach then to downtown Lake Worth for 14 years and then four years ago moved back here to Delray. I love South Florida, but it's definitely getting too crowded and expensive. When I first came down in the 70s, it was really a paradise and even Boca was still a small little town. I had a diner in Boca and then one in downtown Delray. I never made a lot of money but had to do my own thing. I was also a private cook for 10 years for a very wealthy family on Palm Beach Island, until they both passed away four years ago.( It wasn't my cooking 😂) I also did luncheons for Mrs. Dupont and Mrs. Vanderbilt on "the Island", as it's called here. I live on social security now and it's not a lot so it's a little slim. If I didn't have the housemate that I split things with, I'd be kind of screwed. Luckily the mortgage on the condo is very small. I also couldn't get health insurance for many years because I had polio as a kid and they always rejected me even after I was approved. Anyway, I still love it here, if not the traffic.

An awesome comment I was class of 77 Lake Worth high school. I watched them build a I95. Your story is intriguing. I’m sure you have many more I could listen to. 😎

@@SarasotaTim .... I remember when they connected I-95 from just north of Miami to Palm Beach county too. Lost a childhood friend who drowned in one of the rock pits. Class of '79.

Beautiful drive! I live in the panhandle next to Destin. Reminds me of the 30-A drive and also the "scenic" Hwy. 98 through Destin/Miramar Beach area - all the big houses.

This is the kind of content I like. When I've driven through beach communities, I wonder about the same things you do. How can there be THAT many people in this world that can afford these houses? I looked at a map and the closest I've come to Boynton Beach was a day trip into Palm Beach to visit Whitehall and we walked over to the Breakers but didn't go in. We thought we wouldn't be welcomed as lookie loo's. There were green and black parrots in the trees; on the service road; that we walked on.

P.S. that strip of homes you passed in Manalapan, several on the left belonged to Billy Joel, and the guys from Aerosmith and also Roger Daltrey from The Who and the musician Yanni lived right there and I think Yanni still does. Vic Damone lived a couple miles south of there and also Stockard Channing has a place right there still.

Ooo...the Sunshine Skyway Bridge! Yeah, that's a doozie. But I like bridges. Until they built the new Ravenell bridge in Charleston, S.C. they had a bridge there, that was like a roller coaster ride.
