*I know you will move a set of tees back to FOLLOWING the same method*

Went to the range today. The first two tips work great with the swing I have. The 'tee hack' really helps; I was hitting the ball like crazy. Another huge benefit is that it helps get the club back in the same place consistently. I am now very tuned into how I am taking the club back. I can check it during the swing rather than needing a video camera or a friend. I also tried it with my irons. The result was a clean ball strike time after time with a nice, high ball flight. I must have had a swing fault on the backswing because I am hitting the ball so much better. Thanks.

Alex, can you comment on the 2nd half of the back swing when you have you focus on your back pointed at target? I assume the key swing thought is to rotate at your hips to turn your back and pull up your right shoulder vs consciously pulling your right shoulder up? Thanks.

Difficult is an understatement! Just recently got into golf with a friend. Picked up a golf club for the 1st time 3 weeks ago, went to the driving range twice and wasn't good at all. Went to my local course yesterday which is just a 9 hole par 3 beginner course. Absolute shambles and shot 68 (+41) Blew my mind how far the ball goes when you barely hit it. I was taking shots 10-20 yards off the green and ending up 40-50 yards past the other side Didnt really know what club I was meant to be using either. Yeah, rocket science sounds like a plan 😂

I have noticed that many of the tour pros are using thin putter grips instead of the fat ones popular in past years. Would you discuss the advantages and disadvantages of thin versus fat putter grips? Thanks!!
@perrydufresne7142 Жыл бұрын
Fat grips have less feel and are usually gripped in the palms with opposing hands which alters the stance of putting position. Generally the thinner grips have more of a feel and sit more in the fingers. They said the creator of superstroke and fat grip users was because they was all rubbish at putting 😂
@ristoaksila5677 Жыл бұрын
Hello Alex. I just can't stop mentioning the down, out, and up move in the back swing. In iron play what do you think about having the club head very, very close to the ball and thinking only about the angle of attack away from the ball. Then coming down thinking only about the angle of attack into and past the ball? Being very close to the ball helps a lot in eliminating a fat shot. What do you think? Could you have a video on this topic? I believe the viewers would love and benefit from a video about this.

@AlexElliottGolf with the gripping of the driver, I had no issue as I already grip it that way. For the first 4 holes, I used the tee as a guide on practice drives. With a steadier pace in the swing, I noticed straighter drives. After that, single drives when teeing off and for the next ten holes played some of the best golf I've ever done. In the last four holes, I ran out of steam lol, rain, wind, and uphill. My average drive was longer, leaving me shorter irons into the greens. And close to my best to round. Calmer tomorrow, back out to try again.

i am having an issue with deep rough, what is the most effective method to chip out of the deep rough without sailing over the green, or slinding under the ball, and getting a nice short flop shot, that does reach the damned green?

Is there a danger one can get the right arm too deep in the backswing by pulling the right shoulder back?
@stueyleach7121 Жыл бұрын
Here’s one for you Alex. I’m a high handicapper first foremost so my technique can be very inconsistent but lately, especially with irons, iv started hitting left. Not hooking. Straight left. Why? What am I doing wrong?
@steeloned Жыл бұрын
You might be having alignment issues and/or too strong of a grip which is angling the clubface to a more closed position. Your outside in swing is thus directing the ball left after contact.
@monortues Жыл бұрын
I had a similar problem. My issue is that my trail shoulder turned too fast.

As far as my lower body is concerned when I’m starting my turn my thought has always been: “If I push into the ground, the ground will push back.” That lets me concentrate on the upper body movement better somehow.

A good Caddie or great course management will drop any mediocre players shots by 8-10 shots. I personally went and played without my driver and still had birdie shots, granted 2 putts were my killer but this game is rather easy if you simply things.

I imagine the grip is attached to a mower pull cord. You can't pull the cord with power if you're too low.
