I Drove 50 Miles To Catch This Train Friday Morning!

Early Friday I drove to Crivitz, WI where I knew ELS 502 (SD40-2) would be bringing a train back north.. I caught them switching in the yard before heading north through a few different crossings to Wausaukee.

Very good to see a different customer. With the rewards of good Revenue comes the extra responsibility of super safe handling. Derails and hand brakes for starters. Making sure the piping is disconnected and that the hoses are in the clear. Also one of those commodities very low impact coupling so it can be time-consuming. People will always be using propane add this much more economical by rail than it is by truck. Even though there is no agent in town they probably leave a note for the road crew coming the other way regarding what cars to pick up from the propane dealer and perhaps a small schematic upload of what's still in the yard. The zoom works very nicely even on the longer shots. Hopefully the afternoon at the jumps went well

You phone camera looks great. The super zoom looked clear, and you have a steady hand when using zoom.👍 I have 4 frequencies ELS uses; 160.320, 160.290, 161.310, 161.550. Perhaps there are more. They will work in MI & WIS, doesn't matter.⚡ See you on the ski slope! 😁🇺🇲

You talked about Crivitz many times but this was the first time I had seen the yard. Interesting to watch them switch cars. Forty years ago, my father worked for the Chessie System and he switched cars in various yards around Baltimore. Your new phone works great! Take care and keep that hood up! 😄

So we can add LPG to E&LS' list of commodities hauled. The others being scrap metal, logs, Smart Siding, adhesive (for LP's plant), and occasional carloads of iron ore, plus whatever is hauled in the random boxcars that show up from time to time. And of course, car storage fees. I wonder who contracts with E&LS to use their freight car rebuilding shop?

Finished lumber is also delivered to Crivitz & Green Bay. Plastic pellets delivered in Green Bay. Canned vegetables & grain picked up in Oconto Falls.

Hey Jason, video quality looks "Good", but the specs on the phone show you can record up to 8k-30fps. Surprised your not recording in 4k, minimum (1080P is nice). Time to adjust the settings (Hope you got the 512gb)! For the scanner, wondering if their on a different frequency in Wisconsin versus Michigan! Love the switching stuff!

With 91 thousand subscribers why wouldn't you use an SLR camera? Samsung Galaxy is a really good camera phone, but it's still a phone or an internet device, where an SLR camera is a camera only, it seems like a SLR camera would be better videos, your not the only one that is a U-tuber that uses a phone, instead of an SLR camera, to recorder videos with, so there has to be a good reason for doing so, I just don't know it, I'm interested why you use a camera phone instead of an SLR camera, a real camera, please explain it in a video some time, Thanks, because I'm really curious as to why, I don't know why, maybe it's just easier, I don't know, please explain to us some time why you, prefer, and use a phone over an actual SLR camera. Started with a good camera, then as the years wen on those cameras got crappy and the batteries don't last. These new cell phone cameras are just as good as those new cameras now and much easier to work with.. Not to mention cheaper. Price one out once.
