A thing to think about when building train tracks is that you have to take into account the curvature at which the track is built. A good way to create curved tracks is by first imagining the radius of a circle. When you put that circle's edges on the ends of the tracks, you can then use its radius to trace a curved line connecting the rails. And, when you make the radius larger, then the track will curve less, and allow the train to go around it at faster speeds.

Pistons pushing inside wheels out with little force to act as a spring, this should allow the sharper turns without destroying the wheels. I could be wrong, but I would give that a go.

The problem is is that in real life train wheels are designed to have an angle on them to kind of wedge them into the track but you can’t replicate that in this game so this is way of making a train is more similar to that of a roller coaster

Try putting weights below the wheels at the bottom, it might help with the top-heavy issue. Also try putting the sensors in a wider range, but triggering the same engine so it is like a larger sensor. That might lessen the chance that they miss the sensors. Your vids are great, keep making them!

Have you considered just letting the bogies spin freely? Some of the problems I've noticed stem from the fact you have the bogies on powered servos, and prevent them from flowing into the turn.

An idea for the sensor problem: Make 2 sensors for each side (wider area to trigger) and put the piston on a hinge that turns a bit. Problem solved I think. Or you could just have the train and the carts be attached from the start. Might need to extend the complexity limit though. A method for turning would be sensors on the tracks as automatic turning. Or free floating hinges. Or let them fly behind the train with Gimbals xD.

You could also create a sort of scissor arrangement for the wheels, where the two front sets of wheels are sprung against only each other, and the back ones against each other (On each truck piece). This way the turns can flex the wheels underneath if needed.

If you mean the roll of the curve, than i could try... don't promise and tho, if you mean the shape itself than probably not, currently it's using bezier curves, so the easiest way to do so would mean to give full control over the control points position, which is possible, just unconfortable to use

Could you do a Multiplayer Monday where you build an armored train with a pair of smaller chasers using either a slow firing large cannon or the medium size ones. The idea being to stop the armored one making its delivery. To make it more interesting. You could have the tracks be above your car, rather than below.

For the train car control system, you could have the sensors back to back and have the pistons extend past the sensors on the sides. Or have the sensors on a pivot and something to turn the front of the sensor pivot stack like a pot handle being turned on a stove.

If those bottom wheels aren't attached, and not always touching, then when they do touch they add drag, hence the unpredictable speeds from the engine. It's gonna vary based on how many of those sideways wheels are in full contact.

Hey if you keep the sensors in 2 ans copy and stack them so there are 4 sesensors and make forward bottem and reverse top but it might not work on sudden curves up but then it will be good I already tested it

yes and no. yes in that its on a free spinning bearing but no because its not technichally a caster wheel. the Truck or Bogie of a a train is on a free spinning bearing but unlike caster wheels the bearing it sitts on is over the center of the truck or bogie. lol omg i have become a keybored warrior help me.

I kinda thought about making a train in same wheel format but use suspension to give the inner wheels some wiggle room to prevent breaking but still allow them all to grip given if the suspension was tight enough to make sure the wheels that ride the rail don’t fall off.
