I love your videos. American here. One thing I have noticed about the British housing you work on is that they have no yards. It's like every square inch of land is covered with pavers. There's no place for water to drain and I think that is why the pavers get so dirty. Plus you have a lot of rain. In America, we shrub around the house, have lawns, and asphalt driveways usually above grade, and then a paved patio or deck in the back.
@choncord
@choncord Жыл бұрын
The houses are built with drainage built underneath the land and pavement. We have font and back yards paved or otherwise but is purely a personal preference, and those homes are way more expensive. Most people seem to prefer paved as it's less maintenance. But the reason they get so dirty is purely because it rains so much over here. But then most people will only clean one every 8-10 years.

@@bussesandmore1263 the arms must be killing after that lol as I know when I do my conservatory how sore it is on the arms, controlling it. Nice change in color, can't guess what will happen sometimes or how much of some form of grime is involved. Thank you for photos of the surrounding area. Appreciate the owner, Mark, providing food. Long hours, away from home, a good kindness. The tarmac turned out. Impressed you managed to get the brick edging and lower walls sharp. As usual, drain upkeep came up and was worked on. Thank you for making time to discuss drains recently. I can understand that really difficult drain work requires major equipment and training, as well as there are people who can be contacted who have jurisdiction over some types. Plus, you are already busy without taking on another whole business. Perhaps you will develop more allies to call on.

The view from your first customer’s house was beautiful. You always seem to do an amazing job. You are definitely a professional. ❤ You should get a mini shovel that can fit into those drain lines on the driveways so you can scoop out more out at a time than your hand can pull out. Maybe even a small garden shovel would work… the kind you use to plant a small starter plant.

@Aussie Pom @Phil Tucker I think this one is a double whammy, the dirt is basically the same color as the roof itself. it's probably really hard to tell it's as dirty as it is without a comparison of how it originally looks, especially when it's getting dirty so slowly over years and years
@PartridgeExteriorCleaning

the crap in that one was mostly from me to be fair, it's just a really slow soakaway, the drain didn't actually lead anywhere, just build on a layer of gravel :D But I agree for most properties, most jobs i turn up to they're fully blocked before i begin!

@@PartridgeExteriorCleaning I like how they do it at big construction sites with a few containers sitting next to each other, so the water overflows between them and all the sand and mud gets trapped in the container. Probably not possible to scale down. A small bucket in a large bucket perhaps.
