I enjoy eating spicy foods but some things are just WAY too hot. I learned that this extract is one of those things... But what happens if it’s added to a roast prior to dry aging? This whole experiment was a roller coaster of emotions, but we finally answer that question

I love how peppers evolved to become spicy to be able to protect themselves from animals, just for humans to put it on almost everything

You would think that peppers would want to not be spicy, because they want animals to eat them and spread the seeds through the feces

Super hot peppers/sauces are no joke. In this case, I think it was pretty neutered from cooking in butter and a lot of it being cut off. But I dehydrated ghost peppers from my garden and was making pepper flakes with them. Crushing them up, I didn't use gloves because I had never had an issue before. My hands felt like they had sunburn for the next 3 days

I've crushed them as well. The first time I dealt with them I knew to use gloves from working with other peppers, but I didn't realize the dust was going to cause other issues. After about 10 minutes my eyes were dying and it was getting hard to breathe, so now I know to have gloves AND a mask and eye protection

Yeah, it’s surprising. Maybe it’s cause the other seasonings dried down a bit, or because the hot sauce itself dried? It wouldn’t surprise me; instead of a sticky viscous stuff, it became… almost sludge, but not quite, basically not thin enough to get into crevices of your tongue, and getting rid of some of the acid part, only leaving heat? I dunno, I ain’t a chemist.

New video idea: since the steak gives no hint of spiciness invite one of your friends at home, say to them that you made a fantastic dinner with a new recepie that you found online, then after you invite him you hide all the milk and bread that you have in your house, when he arrives you first offer him some random stuff like potatoes or something like that so he trustes, after that you give him the steak which gives no hint of spiciness but you know well that it's made with that liquid death, when he is about to bite it you say that you are going to the bathroom but instead you lock the kitchen doors and hear him suffer.

Capsaicin, the substance that makes peppers spicy, is not water soluble, so it doesn't surprise me at all the drop didn't dilute in your bottle. That's also why milk/cream or alcohol, and not water, are what to use to reduce get rid of the heat after eating spicy foods. BTW, I also learned the hard way about attempting to sear something coated with spice. I had used a ghost pepper powder ,and immediately regretted trying to put the sear on indoors.

Max - You've dry aged steaks in alcohol and hot sauce, I'm wondering if you could dry age a steak in some cannabis infused butter? or hash oil something like that and see if you get stoned after eating it

The fact that he sauce was a syrup scares me, because all hot sauce is is peppers and vinegar so they boiled that down until it turned into syrup You could probably dilute that into a bottle of hot sauce 10x that bottles size and it would still be hot as hell I’m scared of it but I REALLY wanna try it because I enjoy hot sauce that sets my soul on fire
