Dry brushing is awesome! As a lymphatic therapist, it is a great way to keep the lymph system draining properly. It is best to start with circles towards the heart and then long strokes towards the heart. It helps to focus on the main drains, ie… both sides of the base of the neck, just above the collarbone, the arm pits, the top of the thighs at the groin, back of the knees, inside of the elbows. I think one of the best dry brushing demo videos is by Green Smoothie Girl Dr Brushing on KZbin.

I honestly think it’s my secret forever young weapon! Ok- if it feels weird. You can go faster OR the bristles might be too soft or long. Sounds crazy-I know. Different materials/boar hair V synthetic to horse hair! It’s a really quick motion- Using it on my feet- helps to keep the dry toes/heels in check. Working your way up. Front back but toward the heart even at the top- rotate toward heart. UNDER arms - This is GOLDEN to keep the flappy arm away lol. I am a Holistic Practitioner with 18 years of Western med knowledge. The skin is the largest organ right? So when we Dry brush- toward the heart ♥️ We are increasing circulation (This is why night isn’t ideal). Also- we have thousands of lymph nodes- head to toe. Dry brushing gives them the push they need (especially if we aren’t drinking enough water 💧). It shouldn’t take more than 2 Minutes head to toe-pre shower & after shower- I recommend a Dry oil- Almond, Jojoba and top it with a favorite lotion- No alcohol lotion. This makes you shine- I promise! Give it a solid weak or two, get used to speed and stroke lengths. The dollar-stores as my Favorite brush oddly enough! Good luck & yes- your legs actually can look as great as her’s do! Nice job 👍🏼

Brush toward your lymph nodes, you can google where they are. Start by brushing the soles of the feet. Brush towards your heart always, which means downwards in the neck area or you might feel light headed.

Dry brushing is good for exfoliating, but it’s primarily done to stimulate the lymph system... it is the only system that does not circulate on its own, but needs stimulation via brisk walking and/or dry brushing and/or vibrating plates, etc... any nausea or feeling sick is more than likely a result of back up of lymph fluids and toxins being released... start off gentle and every other day for 2 weeks or so, then progress from there...

hii ! should i dry brush 2 times a day ? and for how long should i dry brush ?
@creativebebe
@creativebebe 3 жыл бұрын
@@selintezcanmusic it really depends on where you cellular health is and what you are trying to accomplish... honestly, if you are new to dry brushing, I personally would start slow... 1/day, 2-3x per week until you feel good and invigorated. Then increase from there paying attention to your body’s response. The human body is amazing and it takes very little effort on our end to keep it in top form. Balance is key, and it is also kind to your body systems... to overdo it can tax your filtering organs (kidneys, liver, skin) and can create an inflammatory response to the rest of the body...

FYI, you do NOT need to wash your dry bush once a week. The oils and organisms that the dry brush collect are GOOD for your PH balance of the skin. As long as you are not leaving your brush in a dark, moist area you should be fine. Allowing it to sit out near natural light will do. Washing once a month or once every 2 months will do no harm.

Make sure to do the neck and face. It will keep the skin smooth and really nice. My grandmother is 104 and they both look ridiculously good and pretty damn tight. Good diet, very little processed food/sugar and then dry brushing is the real cherry on top I think. *AND moisture. Lots and lots of moisture. People claim drink all this water blah blah blah but applying moisture on the outside is incredibly important. You’re gonna expel a lot of that water out so be consistent with moisture application.

Hey y’all, I literally had never heard of “dry” brushing until yesterday during a visit to the spa. The therapist did it and explained it to me during a body wrap. It felt great! She recommended circular long strokes upwards towards the heart. And she highly recommended “Cera Vee” which is OTC. So I purchased a skin brush and will definitely try and do this daily. I’ll do anything to decrease cellulite. Yuck! Happy brushing!

THE 10 COMMANDMENTS PREVENTING OF INGROWN HAIRS: 1. THOU SHALT NOT USE DIRTY BLADES! Using a blade that's been used way too many times. Yes, this one may be obvious, but be sure to keep your used tools as clean as possible. Soap and rubbing alcohol will destroy bacteria. 2. HONOR THY DELICATE SKIN! Too many blades! If you are prone to ingrown hairs then you don’t need 3 or more blades. 3. DO NOT TAKE PREP TIME IN VAIN! You should be using a warm/hot water prep (5 mins). Then leave the shaving creme on for more than 3 minutes to really soften the hair. The hair stubble should literally fall away with little or no pressure at all. Pressing hard is the problem! Be gentle ya'll. 4. THOU SHALT NOT GO AGAINST THE GRAIN! Shaving against the grain. Shave in the direction of hair growth (usually down, but perform a face map to be sure). 5. THOU SHALT NOT PRESS! Pressing too hard on the skin with the blade. A gliding, light touch is all you need. This is likely your biggest issue. 6. THOU SHALT NOT PASS! Too many quick passes with the blade. One pass per hairy area - going 1-2 inches downward at a time - will prevent ingrown hairs. Always shave like you might cause damage, not like your mowing the front yard lawn. 7. THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT OVER SHAVING! Shaving too many times. This rule is hard to follow especially if you have to shave for your career but if you are prone to ingrowns, try shaving with an electric clipper. The results are not super close but no one but you will know the difference. Ladies, try waxing. 8. THOU SHALT NOT CLOG! Use of skin/pore clogging cremes or lotions. These keep hairs from growing up. After a shave, keep your skin bare; let the tiny army breath, and allow those newly shaved, really small, microscopic hairs to grow out just in time for the next shave. 9. KEEP THE SKIN FREE! Avoid tight fitting clothing around the Adam’s apple (neck) and/or below the waistline region. 10. REMEMBER TO EXFOLIATE! Not enough exfoliation to remove excess layers of skin. Use a skin care brush for razor bumps as directed. Brushes also tease the hairs away from entering the skin. Try a WIZKER brush today!

@@ebonimajek9001 Me too! Had no idea how bad shaving was, especially the armpits! I was always so irritated despite varying deodorants (use salt crystal now). No more irritation and surprisingly no bad odor! I had more odor when I was shaving (disrupting the bacteria and ph balance in the armpits). The under arm hair serves as a barrier between skin and clothing. I also had no idea that lymph nodes are located in the arm pit area. Another surprise is that my husband doesn't seem put off by my underarm hair! I certainly don't flaunt my underarm hair (rarely wear tank tops or sleeveless tops without a top over the tank & still a little self conscious in swimsuit). Makes me wonder what else we are altering unnecessarily to our bodies that only irritates us.

psychologically you might be affected by what it’s actually doing when you are dry brushing which is to moving your lymphatic which is basically the sewage of your body so it might not of been comfortable for that reason You’re actually getting health benefits from doing it even though you’re after the cosmetic ones both of those are connected it’s kind of like what you digest is what you are not so much what you eat because most people don’t even have a very well functioning digestive system and that’s because they’ve eaten so much trash for so long even their palate has become desensitized and when you try to go back to eating healthier things they might not taste appealing so it would be the same I would imagine with the dry brushing I did it for a long time when I actually lived in a house now I live in my car so it’s a little bit more challenging to find opportunities to do this type of self-care It made a huge difference in my life and I’m 53 most people don’t know that by looking at me but it’s been a combination Of taking good care of myself in every possible way

I have no clue what I am looking for, is this supposed to be an alternative to shaving I'm not understanding what this is exactly for, you say smoother legs but is that smoother legs without shaving or what?
@LaurenColvin
@LaurenColvin 3 жыл бұрын
dry brushing is lymphatic drainage. the bristles from the brush smooth the legs. it does not remove hair it is a type of exfoliant for the skin while improving texture over time and improving the circulation in your legs.

I started fishing offer this summer, like 5 days a week sometimes. It’s hot! Pants are a no go when fishing. But then there are mosquitoes that bit, no matter how much repellent I put on. And those have left brown marks all over. So today, we start dry brushing. I’ll keep ya posted :-)

You probably felt nauseous because you were getting rid of trapped cellular waste and that can make you feel nauseous at first. As you routinely dry brush, you obviously would not have nearly as much cellular waste for your body to deal with. The more you dry brush the easier it would be. So daily is ideal.

I have done laser twice on spider veins on my tigh and legs. It improved a little but I got stuck with a permanent blue bruise on the worst area, not a huge bruise but it doesn’t look better than the spider vein did, and it’s still a cluster but with a bruise added. Its on my thigh and not my leg luckily so a bit easier for me to ignore at least. It might help some people though and maybe even me if I do it more times but its pricey and I dont want more brusing, but also a warning. If you have many small marks you want to go over as well its pretty painful! If its just a couple zaps in one tiny area then the pain is over fast at least :) maybe my skin is just extra sensitive to pain, I don’t know. It felt like being stung by a bee x 100 times
