I've had a couple of experiences like this, from which I luckily recovered the gold. It makes you more appreciative of the time it takes to find and the care cleanup requires. Now I assume any snuffer has gold in it and they only get dumped in a pan. Even the work that went into finding the gold was not lost... it was still valuable time outside, mastering this hobby.

You learn from mistakes 😆. Something positive about this: the sink drain is clean again. Small consolation. It's not the financial value of the gold that's lost, it's the work that went into searching for it. Cheer up buddy 🤠
