It could be fun to watch the movies in real time. Meaning watching them in order and taking breaks (nighttime, multiple days, etc.). Those 18 days would have been so crazy to experience as Marty.

I want someone who's never seen back to the future to watch this and try and reconcieve the story from Marty's perspective like it is in the original movies
@wwerules0002 жыл бұрын
Well I think he made one error, marty wouldn't return to worse 1985 as the third marty got the almanac, which means he would return to good 1985 right.

I got a good laugh out of the 3, then 1, then 2 order for the films, because that was actually the order I first saw them in. My family was visiting relatives in the early 1990s, and we rented the newly released to home video BTTF Part 3 for a movie night. I was about 9 years old at the time and liked the movie overall, but was utterly confused by some parts of it due to not having seen or heard of the rest of the story before. My mom later gave me a general summary of the series, but we had to wait until the other episodes were shown on TV. I got to see Part 1 a few months after seeing Part 3, and finally saw Part 2 a few months after seeing Part 1. It wasn't until the night of my 12th birthday that I got to see the whole trilogy in order, by spending some of my birthday money to rent the videos and watch them all back-to-back.

Just last week I decided to watch them back to back over 3 nights. I had never done that before, Id only ever watched them separately. I think with a series like this it helps to watch them in a short period of time so that the timelines and plot points are fresh in the mind. Its also fitting as it all happens in a short period of time for Marty as well.

How about an edit with everything in order from Doc's point of view?
@jtzor59222 жыл бұрын
You know your history, very good. I recently did a five hour or so edit combining all the films into one. The only thing I couldn't get rid of was 3's rain scene because of the credits. Otherwise I just overlapped them with the second movie following the first movie with Elizabeth Shue and cutting the cloud credits of part 2.

The whole premise of time travel stories is that absent technological intervention, time is absolutely linear, but with deus-ex-machina technological intervention time is turned into what might be called "Moebius Spaghetti", with the attendant paradoxes and twists. George, on the other hand, is telling the BTTF story from the perspective of an observer outside of the BTTF universe, seeing the events in a linear fashion. IN the BTTF universe, Marty is the viewpoint character, and the events therefore proceed from his past into his future in a linear fashion. Doc-- and to a very limited extent, Biff, Clara, and Jennifer-- are aware of the existence of time travel and know something very strange has been going on, but all the other characters are never consciously aware of the timeline alterations.
@FreddieHg37 Жыл бұрын
As with most time travel stories, really. I also love the concept of time travel within Dragon Ball, it's very similar to Back to the Future and the characters really aren't aware of what they're getting into, there's this "Moebius spaghetti" and many of the timelines and events even key ones are left out and we're only somewhat indirectly aware of them, time travel itself is briefly discussed in the series itself, but it would make for a great extended sequence for all the different timelines created, (also both in terms of screentime and time in the show the time travel aspect is barely shown and I would have loved for there to be mor as of it) and with most time travel stories the timeline where we're starting is not the original unknowing to the characters and the audience and that's the biggest difference with Back to the Future, since in BTTF1 we presumably start in the unaltered 1985 timeline.

7:55 I would have started from Jan 1 1885 when Doc came in that year. That was the earliest visit with time travel, and it would be part of the timeline Marty created when he came to the wild west, even if it was behind him. 13:39 Actually there was also the time Doc traveled on his own in 2015, which was some time after the time they would all come together.

Interesting take on the films, entertaining too. 👍 When the VHS box-set trilogy was first released (still got it), I had hooked two VCRs together so that one would play while the other recorded. Then, I played/recorded Part 1 up to the point where Marty opens the garage to see his new truck, then started Part 2 at the same spot and continued recording. When the DeLorean lifts off to fly away just as Biff comes outside to see it disappear is when I paused recording, skipping the intro credits. It then cuts right to them avoiding the taxi cab in 2015. Part 2 plays straight to where Marty finds Doc in the street and when Doc faints the scene fades to black. Paused recording and then started Part 3 from inside Doc's mansion, camera focused on the TV about to turn on. Part 3 played out from there all the way to the end. Only the opening credits from P1 in the beginning and the closing credits from P3 at the end. It had become THE Back to the Future movie to watch and had made a few copies for some friends. I still have the original that chopped together back in early-mid 90's. Now I just need to find a VHS player; but here in 2022, they're a little hard to come by.
