I'm going to have a right good chuckle if the next reaction you upload, you're sitting with your headphones all taped up... Run Like Hell, same concert, is well worth a watch too. Another kinda upbeat tempo song + it was the closing song of the night.

The Lyrics were, " One of these days Im going to Cut you into little pieces" right after Guy Pratts Bass ology lesson. Them BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@jonhenke15044 күн бұрын
The only lyrics in the song were spoken by Nick Mason the drummer. He recited the lyrics in a falsetto saying it really fast and they recorded it and slowed it way down to make the ominous growling sound and he said the following: ONE OF THESE DAYS I'M GOING TO CUT YOU INTO LITTLE PIECES!!!

Was there 20th October Thursday night filmed & Saturday night which was 22nd as there was 15 shows in the month of October being a record resident of any band the PULSE is effectively live at Earl's court! Good thing about Floyd everyone gets the same EPIC show regardless of when & where in the tour. Rogers ego over & out 😂✌️👍

You should react to the 1972 Pink Floyd album Obscured by Clouds which is a soundtrack of a French film called La Vallée, I think a very under rated album.

Roger Waters - Pink Floyd "The Final Cut" 1983 is the last Floyd album with Roger and it's practically all Roger singing. By this time Roger and Dave were no longer speaking, but Dave does lay down a couple of short but sweet solos. And he sings on one song, "Not Now John". Great album but extremely dark. "The Gunner's Dream" is another standout song from it.

Excellent review choice, brother. The only line of lyrics (“One of these days, I’m going to cut you into little pieces!”) refers all the way back to the late 60’s, when the band was still unknown. They were interviewed by a BBC journalist who ragged on them, and in the band's humble opinion, was too in love with the sound of his own voice. The band felt the interview would have been much better if he was edited out of it. At that time, editing magnetic audio recording tape required razor blades and editing blocks. So editing his voice out of the interview recording would have resulted in many tiny bits of discarded audio tape on the floor. Hence, the lyrical threat to 'cut him into little pieces'. Or so the story goes. 🤨

Hey. You've given Pink Floyd a good listen and I hope they gave you something to keep. If so, I'd like to suggest a video on KZbin of a song from the sixties called "Careful with that Axe Eugene ". It's a grainy old video, 50 years + now, but it's one of their finest moments. To borrow one of your own words, it will fry you. But it isn't frying in the pan - it's frying in the chair

Roger Waters hasn't been relevant to Pink Floyd since they recorded The Wall in 1979. The Final Cut after that was so horrible. Roger Waters was the lyricist and wrote most of the lyrics. But David Gilmour is the sound. That sound you love. The sound that makes you throw your headphones to the ground and say yes!

You couldn't be more wrong about Waters and The Final Cut. Waters was by FAR the creative driving force. Dave is freaking great. But no Waters, no Floyd.

Roger was part of every album up to The Final Cut. Final Cut was almost a solo album, with very little from Dave other than Dave’s greatness. The WALL was the last great album with Roger which he wrote.
@richardmillard54984 күн бұрын
No Richard Wright on the Final Cut either, having been "sacked" by Waters during the making of the Wall. By then Waters was on an ego trip and tried to wind Pink Floyd up. Gilmour and Mason fought him in the courts and won. After which Wright rejoined the band.

When they released the album "animals" in the early 70s they advertised it by flying a huge blow up pig over Battersea Power Station in London. Since then a pig usually featured in their live shows. Animals is a great album to discover. Lyrics are all by Roger Waters and are dark and political (mostly relevant to Britain). Long and varied instrumental sections mostly by Gilmour and Waters. Give it a go. Another great instrumental from their early days is "Careful with that axe, Eugene". They are the only lyrics followed by screams. The best instrumental is Marooned on the Division Bell album 94 so post Waters by nearly 10 years. It was written by Gilmour and Wright and earned the band a Grammy for the best instrumental of 1994. Has a typically thought provoking video.

Unpopular view, but Waters' current, darker reworking of Comfortably Numb is pretty good - almost cinematic.
