I didn’t win a ribbon but it was fun to enter and dream. I did see your quilt in person. It is very colorful and fun and deserving of the ribbon. Congratulations! Nikki, this was sweet. My quilt was at 11:55 in your video. I made a King size military (82nd Airborne) quilt for my husband. The first moment I saw your photo in the chair in the video, it didn’t register… then, in the next frame, you’re holding it, and my jaw dropped. Congratulations on your wins! I made a quikt for my aunt tgat incirporated some blocks she had embroidered unkniwn to me she entered it in our county fair. I was stunn3d to find out it got the blue and best of show! Wow so surprising to me. She chose not to forward it to our state fair which is fine. I'm just happy she lives it. She eas one of my sewing mentors growing up. I'm so happy she likes my work today. She's almost 94.

Every year I submit jams and jellies into the California State Fair. They rank them according to tiers, so multiple people can win in the first prize, second prize etc. Then those go on to vie for Best in Class, Show. I would completely freak out if I ever won Best in Class but just my little ribbons for first, second and third prize are so satisfying! Also the written critiques I get from jam experts after the judging are wonderful for my process. I totally encourage people to enter something in their county or state fair. If no one does it, this part of the fair will fade away and all that’s left will be carnival rides and deep fried pork chops and that would be boring,
