I think it's the Ctrl key on PC, but if you hold ctrl while clicking and dragging, you can pull parts off of a part. Like arms - you can take off the forearm, and just have the bicep part , good for making odd joints and bends without having hands stuck on 'em :) Fun stuff, I like Spore. I got it on sale for $5 though, not sure i'd have paid more, but still fun.
