Any Tv/movie/streaming media for Doom kind of requires having Commander Keen being supplied in some form in order to explain important back story material. Doom Guy's father is Billy Blaze (AKA Commander Keen)--the person who first landed on Mars. Well, the NatSocs from Wolfenstien also did show up on Mars... but NatSocs aren't actually people. Oh right, the protag from Wolfenstien is Billy Blaze's Grandfather Though... all the aliens no longer being on Mars at all, kind of indications Billy Blaze _might_ have done a Geno4Smash on the inhabitants. Like... it wasn't dead when Billy Blaze landed on Mars--and found out that the landing of the Viking 2 probe was taken as a declaration of war on the Earth
