Mine was because of work history i didn’t even remember that temp agency through highschool. All in all it was my fault regarding not remembering a discipline issue from current employer or not. Your videos got me all the way through to a sheriffs interview

I am struggling so hard emotionally with this. The ONLY thing I want to do is be a police officer. I applied to a department and in the background process was DQ’d for one year. They said they couldn’t tell me why. I’m 100% sure I got in my own way and way over elaborated. My late teens/early 20s weren’t my proudest moment and I went in being full blown honesty is best. Well now that I know not to over elaborate, I’m afraid that next time I go in for my background it’s going to look like I’m inconsistent. Since I will be keeping it more concise and simple. I don’t know to to un-do what I have already done.

I withdrew from a state police academy in week 2 due to a family emergency earlier this year. I was listed as resigning for personal reasons and was encouraged to apply again once my personal affairs were in order. Due to this incident I rather attend an academy close to home where I can go home every night. Would leaving this academy affect my chances at other agencies?

This is a more individual reason and can be articulated, however yes a department may be hesitant to more forward do to the far that you did not complete the academy. that being said it also show you can pass the hiring process.

I applied with an agency, but im currently in backgrounds. But the issue is that, I’ve been in backgrounds. For over a month with no emails or nothing from them, should I be worried or nervous? From seeing other videos Frank has posted out, I think a professional follow up email would be your best bet. He recommends waiting at least 4 weeks before reaching out.

@@johvales I've considered it but, the initial email that I got. Pretty much states, this is a lenthy proccess and your patience is appreciated. I was also informed that it looks like, I dont have paitence if I do that.

The comments is correct has long as it a professional email with the focus being on what you can do for the department not you status is key. We have plenty of email templates in our online course. Use the free trial to gain access to them while we still have it going on.

Yes and no articulation is key, but the reason they state for the termination will play a factor.

Hello PLEASE HELP ME , I have been applying for last 4 and half years when this incident was only 3 year got DQ I understand where you coming from time and distance had a telephone harassment case that was dismissed through probation and I have been really honest about this . But at that time I been applying it was too recent but they never told me and said I have option to appeal but I never did . What happens if you haven’t filed a tax return for 2021 and 2022. I made the mistake thinking I wouldn’t have to pay taxes for 2021 to make a long story short and 2022 I carried over capital losses so I was -3k for 2022. To my understanding you don’t have to file if you make less than 13k in Washington state. My 2021 taxes will be approximately 5k to pay. I plan on filing both years in the next few days, however I already filled out a few police applications and marked no under the financial section “willful failure to pay income tax” does this qualify as willful? Appreciate any feedback.

Is it okay or frowned upon to apply to multiple departments all at once. Such as county deputy. My city and surrounding cities all at the same time. Is that a bad look or is that allowed? There’s one I prefer over all of them but I was told to try all

Just recently completed two oral boards for two separate agencies. I did really well in both one agency was even upselling themselves to me. One of the agencies i have already turned in my background packet and they began the background check. Is it normal to not hear from the detective doing the background?

Its normal for a few weeks but, I have seen departments ghost applicants, We have our coaching members wait a professional amount of time and then send a professional email.

Considering it was nearly 10 years ago I would say if you disclosed it and have shown that you didn’t get in trouble with the law again, you should be fine

It will come up but if you articulate it correctly, it should be ok depending on the reason for arrest. But it may not be a big hurdle otherwise.

Damn i messed up really bad. I missed two questions in the PHS that i should have marked yes. I hit no to illegal internet activity but should be yes. i pirated content mainly in my college days and recent during covid. I put yes in my polygraph and PIQ. Not sure how I missed it on my PHS... I also had a thing 23 years ago while a juvie that i barely remember and it came up during my background that i was arrested due to it but i don't even remember i was arrested. i marked i have never been arrested. They called me in to talk to me and it was not a good talk. I let them know but I'm sure I'm going to be DQed for making a mistake at the best. Do you think i have a chance? Is this a permanent DQ?

That's tough those are the mistakes that can cost you. But it's not over yet, it depends on how you explained it and if you did well enough to get them to believe you.
