1. Start practicing question earlier (more questions at one time ) 2. 40 questions at time ( 70,80,90 mins doesnt matter) 3. Uworld and First Aid. 4. Supplement with bnb kaplan etc etc but focus on FA and uworld 5. Dont take exam unless you have passed on multiple practice tests (nbme and uworld ) Thank me later 😅

Thanks for making this video and being honest !! The medical space can be very toxic and I wish more people were honest like you . I did step 1 , 3 times and got my result 2 weeks ago and praise God I passed !!! I know of 3 Drs who failed step 1 and still matched ! There is a shortage of Drs. And if you work hard and pray and believe you will pass and match !!! Once again thanks for the honestly you don’t know how much this is helping people !

I failed step 1 twice, I’m re writing in a months time. I made a huge improvement from my first and second score based on the scale report…everything you said is very true. I was not at a good place in my life whilst preparing. I’m much more stable now and I’m confident I will pass . I’m using this last month to review first aid, do more practice tests and to simulate the exam as lack of endurance and fatigue during the exam was a big issue for me. Thanks so much for this video. I can’t wait to pass all my exams so I can inspire others just like you!

I took 5 months to study and pass step 1. My first NBME was a 56% and passing was around 63%. My second NBME was even worse. I was so down. But then I found HyGURU, and it helped me tremendously. Step 1 can be a dark period for many people, like you said. You need to have a strong community around you, drink water, eat healthy, have some free time.

what do you recommend using to study for Step 2? Is UWorld sufficient? That's all I used for Step 1 (plus FA) so I'm thinking to do the same, i.e. use UWorld Step 2 Qbank only (not using FA step 2). I don't like being resource-overloaded. TIA!

How often did you do flashcards the second time round? I noticed i forgot details from questions when i try to get thru volume versus being slowed to review cards, havent been able to find the fine line between priortizing questions versus review them

@@medpsycmoss Is there somewhere you discussed how you handled financial hardship before the third attempt (ie those without a spouse and who have to take a LOA but also have to pay rent while studying for step) since you mentioned you worked before the second attempt?

Please needed to know this perspective … I used up all assessments Nbme/uwsa /free 120 on my previous attempt.. and those qus answer pretty much memorised phase, like i know the answer when i will look into it or biased .. so for next attempt how would i assess myself or get to know that i am ready?
@medpsycmoss
@medpsycmoss Ай бұрын
I did the same thing by taking all the practice exams multiple times. Interestingly enough even though you think you would “memorize” or remember the answers you don’t because there is hundreds of questions. If you truly remembered there would be a significant increase in scores each time you retake it. I talk about this in the video and blog post
