Okay two things: they need to be BONE dry and only offered water outside of the nest or else they will slowly die off or just not thrive. Second is that they definitely prefer smaller prey like fruit flies and small roaches over things like crickets and mealworms

Do you take video suggestions? If so why not a time lapse video of a colony devouring a whole chicken or something like that.
@DyreElsker78 Жыл бұрын
If you did catch them from outdoor, and did't catch every body in the colony, did you send them into their death then? You were talking into the three minutes line that they can't live without a queen, and you have one.. How did you secure the wild colony you catch them from? Can you please make a video on how to keep ants?

The answer is probably no but i just want to ask. Is there a species of ant that can live without a queen?
@LightsCameraAnts2 жыл бұрын
Yes! There are actually queenless colonies that can grow and thrive! They run off of a gamergate system where the workers can also lay fertile eggs if they are fertilized by a male ant.

You shouldn’t feed ants live prey. One it can be stressful because the colony can think there is a threat even if the prey is harmless. Two it’s cruel to do to the feeder insect. Three in some cases the ants can get hurt or even killed if the prey knows how to fight. 5:37, That baby mealworm on its back struggling was really sad. Other than that great video.
