Just wanted to say Jac that your interview videos were a massive reason I've just been offered a Data Analyst job in the MOD. So thank you very much. Your content was fantastic and still relevant today so stop worrying about the early quality. I'm just going through my pre-employment checks and can't wait to start. I've been in the private sector for 20 years so the interview process for the civil service is so different I would have absolutely failed without your advice and experience. Keep doing what you're doing mate!

@@anu07ifyPrep a few possible answers for each of the behaviours for that role. Keep thinking about your possible answers so they are fresh in your mind. When answering choose the responses you feel passionately and most confident about that closely match the question. Mention in your answers how you worked with other people and encouraged them to accomplish goals. Be confident and positive. Good luck!

not at all Jac, I've seen so many videos and find them too articulative and confusing, your ones are so clear and effective, I have a interview recently and you are helping me so much!!!

I've worked in CS for 5 yrs, (now going for SEO roles) and your videos are invaluable and helped me move into Policy. As you go through your career you'll find most of us have imposter syndrome - even SCS! Really helpful to identify it as being out of your comfort zone. I hope you keep progressing and would be interested in how you start approaching G7 roles.
@JacWilliamsVideo2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Sarah - all the best with going for the SEO roles. Yes the transition to G7 is something I'm looking at so will keep you updated.

Hello Jac, I just wanted to say thank you for the video's on the behaviours. I got the job I applied for. I went from a HEO to G7. You really helped me. I could not have done so well with my scores 5 and 6 without you explaining it the way you have. Take care
@pandyj86 ай бұрын
Hi Jac, I really relate to what you said about imposter syndrome. As someone who is a similar age to you, I think what you have done, from your videos to the question bank, is really impressive. I used your videos and question bank a lot when preparing for a policy advisor role last month and managed to make it onto the reserve list. Thank you so much for everything you do and, as others have said, keep doing what you're doing!

Jac you have no idea how much your videos have helped me! Last year I used the advice in your videos to apply + interview for three jobs that I had no previous experience in (two CS and one non-CS) - I was offered all three! I accepted a HEO civil service position which has kick-started my career. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!

Your videos have helped me so much! Spent years in a CS department, in a role that was a v tough gig and was v keen to get out. I really made a mess of HEO interview with the Home Office a few years ago, then found your videos which helped me get into my dream role in policy in a different department! Thank you, it's been hugely helpful to have heard your tips :)

Might be coming in a bit late a year later after this video was uploaded but just to let you know, my work coach, working within the civil service too, recommended your civil service interview videos to me as I'm trying to get a civil servant role 😂👌 There are people in the world who are dedicated to specific topics and whatnot who you'd learn from as they are masters in the topic but honestly in this area, getting a more down to earth perspective on the matter makes it more engaging, less waffled, down to the point, and more accessible to everyone so honestly Jac, thank you for your videos

I've recently chosen to pursue a role within the CS, and have found your videos amazingly helpful in many ways. I have over two decades of work history in an environment that is mainly statistical focused and I would have never have thought to use structures like STAR within my CS application. You've opened my eyes up and definitely given me the confidence to showcase my skills in the best light possible. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!

says something though when not just non civil service people have to come here to find information, but actual civil servants who want to go up some grades because their department may not offer the support they would expect or want. I've found many people who would make great leaders or higher up workers but suffer imposter syndrome or are fearful of being judged by longer serving peers. You just keep being you pal.

Anyone know how to better understand the question being asked? I have ADHD which means sometimes when I'm asked a complex question my brain will miss bits out (and yes this applies when writing questions down also) I don't want to sit there asking the panel to repeat the question 5-6 times either.
@JacWilliamsVideo2 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, you could make this known to the panel or on your application. There are things they can do in the interview to help you.
