Great buck!! You got lucky that was the bottom step that broke. Always use a climbing belt from the time you leave the ground until you get back on the ground. It may be the top step the next time.

We don’t bait year round. We usually move bait around to get it close to where we think the deer we want is bedding in hopes of him daylighting. It depends on the spot. Just enough to keep it from running out
