They’re definitely not doing a cross-gen 3D Mario game… I mean, unless they’re intentionally trying to tank the Switch 2. There’s no way they’d deliberately sabotage it by NOT having a 3D Mario exclusive to it. I do agree that they’ll do cross-gen titles, but they’re saving Mario and Mario Kart for Switch 2. Donkey Kong is a more likely cross-gen title.

Usually they vary between Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in my experience. The Wednesday directs were always the worst timed ones for me with what college classes I usually had those days, lol. Though, if E3 was still a thing, we probably would’ve seen a Nintendo Direct at some point this week. (Granted, that could still happen, but we’ll just have to see.)

@@ladyaceina Nintendo Directs weren’t limited to Tuesdays for E3. There was one on September 13th, 2022, which fell on a Tuesday for example. Now, the main Directs typically fall on a Wednesday or Thursday, but Nintendo has had a big Nintendo Direct on a Tuesday unrelated to E3 before, so there’s no guarantee that they won’t have it on a Tuesday this time. (Though, a Wednesday or Thursday Direct is probably more likely.)

There is definitely a lot they could Do with it and I would’ve agreed before the Switch released but the switch is truly gold so now I hope they just innovate and improve upon it with better performance/graphics and as for gimmicks the furthest I think they should go is just changing the dock to reveal the screen so that way there can be like themes on display when you walk by.

Imho the purpose of F-Zero 99 was to draw new people into the series, it might be a sign that a remaster or a new game is in the works. After 99, I think this game is also likely to have online, and since the Switch is at the end of its lifespan, I think it makes more sense to save it for the Switch 2. We might also get some smaller titles like Rhythm Heaven. Intelligent Systems has put out at least one per generation, and considering how consistent they are with their other series, I don't see them skipping the Switch.

Also, some big games got rumored, such as a 3D Mario, Mario Kart 9, Splatoon 4, Luigi's Mansion 4, and Metroid Prime 4, but Metroid Prime 4 got confirmed on the latest June direct, its basically confirmed to come out on Switch, but it might be a cross gen title much like Breath of the Wild, im guessing Nintendo are gonna make some games introducing the Switch 2's gimmicks, similar to "1 2 Switch" and "Arms".

I think Nintendo will keep 2 consoles on the market. The Switch 2 will act like a next gen console with the big releases and they Will keep seling the OG Switch and use it like a 3DS, for smaller games or remasters.

These predictions are all pretty plausible. Even with more of a focus on older games, what they choose could still help with reaching their fiscal goal. A new Mario Party and Twilight Princess would help the most, as well as Nintendo potentially finally decreasing the price of the Switch and it’s game to get more sales from those buying the console this far into the lifespan

I skipped out on the switch to save for a pc which I got last summer (no regrets) but I still wish I could’ve experienced that ‘new zelda player starts with BoTW’ so I’m just hoping the new console (allegedly the ‘switch 2’) will work like how the 3DS worked with DS, with backwards compatibility. If it turns out I won’t be able to play switch games on the new thing, I’ll probably just get a cheap switch lite and get rid of the itch. Here’s hoping that September direct gets here sooner, or even a small teaser for June

1. Two NEW trademarks for StarFox and I believe a different one around the time princess peach got a new tradmark for her new game. 2. Bandai Namco working on a remaster Remake of a 3d action game for nintendo and Star Fox Assault makes the most amounts of sense. They even made the game back on GC. 3. Even after Zero, Miyamoto expressed wanting to put more energy into Star Fox and Pikmin. We got Pikmin, Fox is next. 4. Let me cook with this one but one of the Trademarks for a new starfox is described as entertainment related. The Mario Movie and the Zelda movie trademarks are labeled as such. So StarFox could be getting a movie or show as tge series has shown themselves to work In that media with the battle begins which was received better then the game it was for. Starfox was also going to get a series in a claymation or fantastic mr. Fox style along with a Zelda movie or series on Netflix. It got leaked and both were scrapped. But with the Zelda movie, I wouldn't be surprised if StarFox follows. It won't show up in the June direct this was more of pointing support for the other point I made

I just really hope for the switch 2/switch advance/super switch/whatever leans into the theme market. A bunch of KZbinrs have all had great ideas and if put together it’s so great. With a camera on the actual system and an open screen dock the system would register when a person walks by and then turn on the screen. And based off of the theme this would then have a certain character greet them with one of their many animations. So these themes not only are really cool to navigate throughout the menus but they add characters you can actually interact with in the menu, pick them up, tease them, e.t.c. It would be sooo fun! Mario Theme: $9.99. Luigi Theme: $9.99. Toad Theme: $9.99. DK Theme: $9.99. Diddy Kong Theme: $9.99. K. Rool Theme: $9.99. They could have so many and if each had variety in animations then I truly think $10 or even like $12 is a good price tag for these themes. And people would pay for it if Nintendo went above and beyond for designing them. And what if they had merged themes that had a crap ton to them with a bunch of variety that were $20. Like a Donkey Kong Country theme with all the Kongs, different Kremlings, e.t.c. Or a Mario Kart theme. A Mario party theme? The possibilities are endless and I truly believe these high prices could be worth it. It’s a market Nintendo could tap into that would be so fun. And then just have like Basic Black and Basic White for free and have the colors of the Switch lite: Coral, Blue, Turquoise, Gray, and Yellow also be available so all seven of these themes don’t have any characters and are the rudimentary. Like the Switch Lite colors would each cost $2.99, but if you bought a Switch 2 lite of that color then that theme would be free on it. And if you have Nintendo Online all five are free! They could just build and build upon it and having your own theme for your system would be cool. And the family dynamic of picking what theme their console has because each account doesn’t get their own. It would be so amazing and just walk over to your friends’ houses only to find not one person has the same theme due to such a big market. It would be amazing. That’s the number one thing I want for the Switch 2. After that is just like performance and then the whole idea of using AI to upscale graphics resolution. But themes and being greeted, so cool! And since you already have this open dock, what if the dock itself had a cartridge slot? So that way when you were at home docked you could have two game slots as one on the console and one on the dock. Or even two put on the dock. And a microsd card slot on the dock even? Possibilities=endless. So yeah themes, then Dock, then everything else for me.

Nintendo confirmed we’d see an announcement for the successor within this fiscal year (March 2024-March 2025) and generally looking at the Switch they also released it in early 2017. A lot of credible leakers also confirmed early 2025 to be the release window. In general it seems companies try to avoid releasing systems in summer

Personally, all I'm hoping for is something related to Mario & Luigi (a new game would be preferable but i wouldn't be too disappointed by a remake of PiT or DTB) and a Xenosaga trilogy collection (I don't really care if they're emulated, ported or remastered tbh).
