Did you know that the average woman ✨TEMPORARILY✨ gains more than 2kgs on her period? 🤯⤵️ You’re not gaining weight, it’s your period gal! 😘
It’s so easy to be harder on ourselves around that time of the month... We bloat like crazy, we break out in pimples, we crave all the stuff the media has convinced us is bad for us, we get cramps, we’re emotional as heck & overall just not having a great time...
Leave a ‘😅’ in the comments if you can relate, I know I’m not the only one haha!
That’s exactly why it’s important to remember:
1️⃣ how amazing our bodies are
& 2️⃣ to be kinder to ourselves when that week of the month comes around (sometimes the symptoms can start creeping in earlier too, YAY 😳)
Things that help me feel better when I’m on my ‘ladies’:
✨ resting when I need to rest
✨ giving into my cravings in moderation or reaching for a healthier alternative
✨ spending time with someone who makes me feel at home (if you’re like me, you probably get really sooky at times & need hugs haha)
✨ no picking at pimples!!!
✨ no staring in the mirror picking yourself apart! Keep it movin’ sister
✨ exercising, but I usually take it a lil easier than usual
✨ making a list of things you want to do & achieve at the start of each day & work your way through them. Being productive & keeping my mind preoccupied helps me from falling into a more emotional mindset 😂👏🏻

So true. Normalize the pudge. Same with after someone eats a meal. It's not always bloating (SORE PAINFUL GAS), most of the time people just have a larger stomach after food because they JUST literally ate a bowl of food that is now in their stomach LOL Meals do not just vanish away instantly, it has to be broken down.

Listen, I’m a gay man and have no idea why this video is on my fyp but lemme tell you: bodies are awesome. And no one but you is looking at your body with the same amount of scrutiny you are, absolutely NO ONE. Bodies change, especially during menstrual cycles. I’m not a girl but I am a med student and I wanna say that every time I see someone, a friend, family member, or a patient in the office where I work feel insecure about their body changing during their menstrual cycle, all I can think is “Damn, I owe my LIFE to someone whose body does this every month. If their body didn’t do that, it wouldn’t have been ready or able to make a baby.” You owe your life to someone whose body does this, and the fact that yours does too is honestly really fucking cool, your body is prepared to 3D print an entirely new human. That’s insane to me, and I understand it on a much deeper level because I have to if I want to become a doctor. So just, talk to your doctor, ask about ways to manage the insecurities, and try to focus on the fact that nothing you do will make your body any less magical. Your body is so cool, I can never learn enough about it, and you have one! You have a body that can create life, you have a body that can double its blood volume and make people. You can make people, because your body does this. So please talk to your doctor about your insecurities, any and all health concerns both physical and mental, and work on strategies with them. Hope this helps!

It makes a lot of sense biologically. The body is literally preparing for a potential pregnancy. It wants to be in the most optimal conditions, which includes cushion for the baby and expansion to have the baby fit. Once it realises it's a false alarm, it just dumps it all and restarts the process. I don't get why people should expect a flat tummy 24/7. Even I, an underweight individual, have bloating. Not from pregnancy nor periods, of course, but from literally having a sandwich or water. It's called ✨ feeding your body ✨

So one day I got really sick and the dr was administering very strong testosterone injections along with a ton of vitamins. Over a short period of time, something happened and it caused my estrogen to skyrocket and my hormones to get completely out of wack. I was an emotional train wreck and could not figure out why. I would see a billboard or a commercial or even just see children with their families playing and I would be balling my eyes out. It was the most unreal roller coaster ride I’ve ever experienced.. finally I called the Dr and we figured out that I was supposed to be on a special estrogen blocker that they had forgotten to prescribe me. After telling them everything the nurse looked at me and said it’s not fun is it? That’s when it hit me..this is a small little view into what it feels like for some women and it changed my perspective for the rest of my life. I will never forget how it felt and I tell anyone who will listen every chance I get that we have no freaking clue what a woman feels or goes through and that we need to be way more patient and understanding of their feelings. It’s not always logical but you bet your butt it is real and intense. I used to think I was tough now I know it’s my mother and my wife who are the tough ones..they push/go through a lot..

Uff it is about promoting understanding, empathy and sympathy from the males. I have been shocked at the lack of under standing both genders have of the other and I think that can be improved upon. And i think The more knowledge there is by both genders about both genders the more understanding and compassion there will be for each other. How am i failing to communicate that this video could be used as one of many tools to help promote understanding between the genders? This video let's both genders know that this type of fluctuation is normal and nothing to criticise one's self or another about. Whatever I did made it so much worse. In addition, the pain even radiated to my legs, which is why I couldn't really walk. @@user-ot7gy2wc1law, try laying on your side with your knees up, almost fetal position, but a little less tight. Take an Advil,or any NSAID, because that kind is less likely to cause internal bleeding, you shouldn't be in pain, maybe just taking medicine may be what you need to feel a bit better. wear like period underwear with a nighttime pad (if heavy bleeding), so maybe you can rest through a full night's sleep Drink water, too, make yourself drink extra water before and during. Be well!

So true. Currently am on my period lol, however I stopped being harsh on myself diet-wise.. I used to avoid eating anything sweet which made me focus on it even more and it always turned around much worse on me, as I would just binge eat anything sweet and in big amounts:/ Nowadays whenever I crave something sweet, I have 1 or 2 and never feel guilty about it cuz I work out consistently now

I don't even get my period anymore (thanks to taking birth control) but endometriosis 100% makes me bloat at ANY time. These last couple days it's been flaring up...I feel like I'm gonna pop. @@BC-wj8fxyeah, it happens to me! When I'm on my period my lower back hurts so much I can barely move, and tilting my hips a little helps with pain. I'm sure it's the case for a lot of women too.
@aputsiaq6070
@aputsiaq6070 Жыл бұрын
That just happens because as the uterine lining keeps getting thicker and as the body keeps retaining more water in the abdominal cavity it is harder and harder to engage the core muscles to have a better posture.... This is why periods can cause low back pain. The fluid pools in the area. It's an inflammatory process... women go through a lot

Um wow, earth shattering difference, and I'm going to stop tearing myself a new one every time the scale pops up. I'm going to start using a monthly average to judge if I'm reaching goals. Thanks for this. I knew women could bloat a little but I didn't know it could change things this much. Seeing the change on a woman I saw as in shape and who takes care of herself totally exposed the popular shame "she just let herself go" for the fraud it is. You are a saint for this video. I don't think I know a woman who would have had the bravery to deliberately show every step of the change. You just created an instantly more forgiving mindset about myself. Amazing body confidence.

While you might think your intentions with this comment are nice, they’re actually disrespectful to women. We don’t go through this to BEAR your children. It’s just how an adult women’s body is, just like how men don’t have balls FOR us to have children. Only men who view women from a reproductive standpoint only would say things like this. We don’t say “thank you for having nuts that can get kicked and be painful so we can have OUR children.” That’s another thing, women don’t have YOUR children. It’s their child too. Try to change your perspective from that of ownership, objectification, and infantilization.
