One thing you need to be careful about is thinking your watch is waterproof. Dive watches are water resistant to their rated depth, not waterproof. The water resistance comes from o-ring seals in the crown, caseback, and a seal around the crystal, and those seals wear out over time (especially the crown seals from repeatedly setting and winding) and need to be lubed or replaced periodically. I wouldn't worry at all about the Seikos since you can buy replacement movements for $30, but that Tudor is a different story. If you are going to swim with it, you should have it pressure tested once a year, to be safe. The best thing you can do is find a good independent watchmaker you can trust. Mechanical watches generally need to be serviced every 5 - 7 years, and factory service is not cheap (service on a Rolex diver is around $850 at Rolex). A good independant will charge around $300ish for the same work. Sorry for the novel. Congrats on the Pelagos (it's a gateway watch, lol). Welcome to the darkside!

I'm glad I watched this. As a new-ish watch guy, I love how you claim not to be a watch guy, yet still watches bring you so much joy. I think you are a watch guy, but you are comparing your expertise level interms of knives with your expertise level with watches, thus down selling your Fandom. A non watch person wouldn't have such a nice collection, wouldn't spend extra to update stock clasps, and wouldn't have such a nice watch box. As for the collection itself, I'm glad that you are happy with it, but I do think you have alot of redundancy in there. Me personally like more diversity in my collection. I'm a 1 watch per brand guy and I like different color dials. But all in all. I really enjoyed this and thanks for sharing. P.S. I wouldn't get rid of the watchbox, but what you can do is implement a 1 in 1 out method, where when you get a new watch, you have to swap it out with one you have already. This way you keep the collection to a reasonable level and stops you from impulse buys.

Been a long time subscriber of the channel and I gotta say, I love the watch content as well! Found an old rare Timex that belonged to my old man and that set me off on my watch journey with a focus on divers along with some Gshock models! If you like that Gshock that you currently own and would ever mod a watch, I can't recommend the GA2100 enough (Aka the Casioak). The company SKX Mod had some great metal case conversions along with hands, dials, and more! As a knife guy who loves to mod his stuff, it's become the go to watch for myself! Thanks for the great content as always MC 🤟

I'm a watch guy who also collects knives because I like pokey things. That's a very nice and respectable collection. You'd do great on any Seiko forum. Seikos are probably the best bang for your buck watches. I lean more toward field watches, but my 009 is one of my favorites. Tudor is beautiful.

Your video on the Reef is what got me into watches. I put off getting a Reef of my own for about a year, and I have now had it as my daily wear for about a year and 4 months. I absolutely love it. Got myself an Oris Aquis cherry dial for my birthday last September two days before I broke my jaw. By the time all is said and done another year will have passed, and I’m very strongly considering a Tudor BB42 or Pelagos as my other bookend to this point in my life. Congrats on the pickup

Hi MC. Just saw this video. It's great watching you get into the world of watches. I actually went the opposite direction - started with watches and then moved into knives. It's interesting, the watch crowd is definitely different and distinct from the knife crowd, but they also have a lot in common at the same time. What nice about going from watches to knives is that watches make knives seem very affordable! Unfortunately for you, you are going the opposite direction. In any case, congrats on the purchase. Excellent choice and good taste! Enjoy the new watch. Also, try to make it to a Worn and Wound Windup show sometime. Def a fantastic gathering and experience.

What a cool collection! I love how understated your choices are, but they've all got something special you love. My 'grail' was the Full Metal G-Shock you've got there, but since being a wee bairn, I've wanted a digital watch with a negative display, so went for the black crystal version in the rubber strap when I could afford it. Then I was lucky to happen upon a fellow that had your version, but hated the steel band, and was willing to do a swap! So I've now got the blacked out dial with the steel band, and this is honestly the only watch I'll ever need, unless I'm going to a wedding. I've 'modded it' with an underslung 40 lumen torch, and now the watch lets me see in the dark too. I couldn't be happier! Well, maybe I'd be happier if I had that Seiko Sumo Cool As Ice Diver... 😋

If you ever get a chance, check one out. His Formex is beautiful, different than mine tho.

You weren't kidding when you said there was a bit of a theme😂. Congratulations, the Tudor is very nice. I'd have to get the titanium 39mm, but even that might be too big for my lady like wrist. I mostly live in 36-38mm. Love the Formex the most out of the lot, like they are speaking to me the most, but aren't making them small enough yet. I too don't like leather as a watch strap, I mean its fine for a dress watch and comfortable, but daily wear? No. It gets smelly and wet just washing your hands and sweating a bit, however I do like rubber straps along with metal bracelets. You have enough similar watches in there that I think you could roll the dice and pick up an FKM rubber dive strap. Seiko divers are literally meant to be worn on them. Like you and milions of others, Seiko was also the gateway drug for me, although I think my first serious watch as a kid was a ladies(fit me perfectly)Victorianox field watch, a knife company of all things! Nick Shabazz was probably right and you should have listened to him, you've already filled a 12 slot box with just divers! Wait till you really start playing the field 😮

I found you freedom to buy another watch! If you have one on your WRIST, then there should be an open spot in the box! Easy to justify another purchase. ;) My only comment on the collection is that "There is more out there than DIVE watches!!" Like a nice Hamilton field watch? Sports steel GADA watch? (GADA: Go Anywhere Do Anything). But, of course, it's all personal preference, so my view is completely irrelevant. There's something to be said for a clean focus as well....

The biggest thing keeping me from crossing the 250+ line on watches is the undeniable fact that I BASH EM INTO EVERY CONCEIVABLE SURFACE KNOW TO MANKIND. So, sapphire crystal, seiko movement, micro adjustable strap, anything else I'd cry big alligator tears everytime I do some smashin'. And I work in coolers delivering beer. There's no time for feelies when your wheelin with steelies.

I'm in construction and honestly I don't wear a watch to work, just so I don't need to cry about it! Interestingly, I actually was a pioneering wearer of smart watches and they shockingly held up on the job site. I wore them as a tool and took them off at home. However, like our man here, I'm not too into them anymore. I should note that I am rather light on my things, I still have a pair of Ray-Ban's on the dash of my work truck that I bought in grade 9 and I'm now in my 40's, so I'm definitely not in the majority...

It's a very nice collection, MC, but honestly you come across more as a bracelet guy than a watch guy in this video lol. Barely any mention of the movements of complications? I hope you enjoy your new piece 👍 And as I type this you say "I'm very into clasps" hahaha yes you definitely know yourself my dude.

Tudor & Rolex have been linked for many years. I own both and an Omega ...welcome to Swiss Made Watches MC... I love watches that actually tell the time with arms that are easy to read. Why spend that much on a watch ??? BECAUSE. That baby will be handed down to your Son and his Son. Now get a Submariner two tone...

I’m not even gonna watch the video because I already know it’s a Casio calculator watch from 1979. Grail achieved.

It's a wonderful watch but be warn... its a really really really expensive hobby, by far more than knives and it's a never ending story. I like Rolex and I like Tudor, both made by Hans Wilsdorf. I think pilot watches are wonderful (Navitimer), the Moonwatch, Rolex as the Submariner in black and steel (which is really not fancy looking but it's a legend), Blancpain Fifthy Fathoms man, i can go on and on :) clearly you like sports watches. Tudor is awesome and even the snobs can't really complain about it :) congratz! :)
