In today's video we get my stolen recovered Volkswagen Polo GTi into the workshop and get the key coded... will it start? Also we fit the brake pads and film some other bits....

They are pretty quick stock....192hp book figures but they are known to put out a bit more with good fuel in them. Worth noting the manual vs the DSG has 236lb/ft torque vs 184 of the DSG (the DSG has the weak dry clutch 7 speed which has a torque limitation).....reality is the manual probably is a bit quicker in gear 👍👍 As others have said the lack of interior will no doubt help too....probably saving the weight of a couple of burly passengers there 🤣

Like i mentioned in your polos first upload the gti polo is great fun... When i worked for VW it was probably the most fun car to drive out of the entire VW fleet. Still option of a cheap driver's seat so at least can use car in meantime. First front wheel drive project you've driven in a while. Is trying to put 190bhp and possibly same in lb ft of torque through wheels. Really nice car. Look forward to new project.

Great video as per! Have a question though... Noticed that you reversed off the transporter with the door open. My 2017 Passat automatically applies the parking brake if you open the door when reversing. Guessing that this has a manual handbrake, but wondered if you knew how to override this being as you unload a lot of cars. Cheers.

Copart would have gotten more respect by saying we run into complications due to covid19 but they do whatever they want whenever in my experience but if you are a day late picking a car up they charge you, wish they had some proper competition.

Ruthless lot them copart,pure robbing b*stards would charge you for fresh air if they could.....very hard to bag a decent car for the right money nowadays as the auction is a joke with bonus time & crazy reserve prices before the huge rip off buyer premiums are added so yes i agree they need more competition as their arrogance is off the scale with zero customer loyalty....check out trust pilot review on copart uk ( shocking ) Best place i ever bought from back in the day was D-Hales before this lot bought them out.....simple auction with no added fees to bid price and always good cars unlike a lot of dodgy scrap put through copart with nasty hidden mechanical failure doctored up as salvage....they will sell anything off anyone for profit and rip people off with no come back on them all stitched up with their T&C'S nonsense....internet bidding is a big risk if unseen of this outfit.

16:16 - What I know is that due to the virus going on - my logbook which I have requested from the dealer when I bought my Golf GTI has taken more than 6 weeks so far, as I taken delivery of it on the 24th March! I had to send off my V62 which of course includes the new keeper slip so circumstances may be different, but I heard that the DVLA are working with skeleton staff at the minute so there'll most likely be a big delay. Great video though mate, love the projects that you're working on. Especially the Polo GTI and Mustang :)

I had a polo where the latch was doing that, drowned the mech in WD40 to free it up (few push closes and slams), the lock was stuck open and wasn't engaging when you closed it like yours - got it working like new then used some WD40 PTFE spray to lube it up, been perfect since - Try something like this before dismantling it

Surely you could of done the key programming yourself with something like an autel ms908p or something similar/ comparable to it?

You can do if you already have a key, but to wipe all keys and program a completely new key is dealer only

@@SavingSalvage I've seen videos on KZbin using an ms908p to re programme keys when all keys are lost if you KZbin you will see what i mean lol im not 100% weather that is depandant on brand make and model but I no it can be done mate I only mentioned because some like yourself that dose salvage alot could possibly save money with something like tool was all great video by the way I always look forward to your content..... keep up the good work
