I bought a 2021 Tundra in May of last year. I pulled the trigger due in part to the news that Toyota would be moving to a turbo 6 for 2022. Saw lots of videos from Scotty and others about the reliability of the 5.7 V8. Mileage: on the highway I get 18-20 mpg. In town I can get 12-14. Towing a 3400 lb. travel trailer (like pulling a sail down the road) I get 10-11 mpg with tow/haul on and the transmission in S4 per Toyota recommendations. Used to tow the trailer with a 2004 Chevy Express 1500 hi top van , which is now in retirement (only has to pull my canoe/kayak trailer). The Tundra has no problem climbing the Blue Ridge with the trailer - there seems to be plenty in reserve. I intend to keep this truck for at least 10 years, so I didn’t want to mess with the new tech, since I see Tundras and Sequoias everywhere here in NC and some of them are really old.

Backup cameras are required by The NTSB now. I think they passed the law in 2018. So you'll notice every 2019 to current model year will have a Backup camera regardless of the make or model. The main reason they did it was to reduce the amount of small children being run over because you can't see them. It's a law now. They have to include one.

Hey Scotty, Scott from Dallas here. I just purchased a 2024 Tundra 4x4 TRD Sport model. I wanted to share a couple things I learned you may not be aware of. 1. If you get an aftermarket device to plug into the OBD port, you can remove the intentional sound they “programmed” into the truck to make it sound beefier. 2. That same device allows you to adjust where the shift points are in addition to some other things. Do you want me to tell you what I’m talking about so you can have your neighbor get one and try it out for a review? That would be awesome! Thanks for your honest reviews bro!

I towed my camper with the dirt bikes in the bed AND ran E85 (supposedly 30% less gas mileage over standard pump gas) and got 11 MPG that trip. Lots of other things Toyota got wrong with the new Tundra: Larger turning radius than the previous generation (that stops me right there) smaller fuel tank than the previous generation, and I think, at least in the double cab, you lose 1.5 inches of leg room front and rear over the previous generation. Doesn't sound like much, but you'll notice it.

4-5k if you plan to keep the thing past the warranty. The 10k tends to be the longest the vehicle can go between oil changes and not break under warranty for many mfgrs. Same with lifetime or 80k or other giant numbers for trans and diff fluids.
