Good news guys! After reaching out and talking to some people at Meta (prev. Facebook), they were able to look into this for me and I ended up getting my account back! Thanks to everyone who helped spread the word, I'm now back on the platform under @RealBrandonHerrera......for now at least, lol.

Paintball guns are classified with proper firearms, with all the red tape to go with them. There was even a news story being ran about a year back of a petition to classify Nerf (or Nerf-like) guns as firearms (some bs about being able to modify it to make it lethal, as if a small pin on the end of a foam dart is as dangerous as a 9mm). Thankfully that last one never made it into law or nearly every family in Australia would become a felon overnight.

I absolutely support brandon but this is just stupid - the first amendment guarantees that the government won't make a law that interferes with your freedom of speech (etc and so forth). It doesn't say anything at all about any private company having to to give its users a platform for views they don't agree with... and we need to be careful what we wish for... if the 1A meant that every company had to allow anyone who wanted to to post whatever they want on their sites, then every gun company that allows users to post comments would be obligated to allow people who are anti2A to post their views on their websites. (and that is just the thin end of the wedge) Do you want every shooting forum to be obligated to allow anti gun people an equal voice? Because that's the problem with freedom of speech...you start guaranteeing it in private venues and everyone has the same right, not just people we happen to agree with.

I was skeptical about shadow bannings until I saw my account of 600 followers on twitter was shadowbanned. I get more engagement with my new account than I ever did with my old account.

And the pre existing 1 star review about how garbage Instagram is that I have not had a real reason to post until now just went up the only change being "BANS FFL HOLDERS" is now in the front of everything else that is wrong with that platform.

Regarding shadow bans, I forget which Guntuber it was, but he posted a video about 45-70. The views/engagement/traction/whatever graph showed a steady climb, until suddenly growth hit an absolute plateau and stayed there. Likewise, there's been a problem with people "mysteriously" being unsubscribed from their favorite channels, or not receiving notifications of new videos. I've heard about videos that suddenly stop appearing in search results, even though the video is still up and public. It's a real thing.

I was at work about a week ago trying to use my Facebook to log into a website to convert a pdf into word format when I got a notification that Facebook had reviewed some of my previous posts and found they had violated community standards; namely advocating or encouraging self harm (I probably told someone to go play in traffic). I still had some time left to ask for a review but since I hadn't used my Facebook for anything in about 2 years I just let it go.
