I as well have been planning it for over a decade. Planning to leave in April. Biggest help I could give you is set a date that you will leave. So you can get everything you need and take care of bills and what not. I kept saying I was going to do it and then years would pass. Now that I have a deadline I’m working quickly. Also don’t just jump of the ship so to speak. Take smaller weekend trips to get ready. That way you will learn things that maybe you forgot or didn’t think you would need. Sorry for all that info I’m just excited to get going.

Thank you everyone. Long story short. It's going on 7 years divorced. Haven't lived with her about the same year. I used to have an apartment for those 7 years. But bs happens. Now I have been living with my sister in law for 6 months. And she and her husband want the place back. Which I respect. I thought about living in a van. But again. Daughter lol. I have a good relationship with my family. They just want their own space. I'll make it through eventually. Thanks again everyone. One love.

Went into the USAF, started partying to hard and forgot about it. By then, when was ready I had lost my 20/20 vision which was required at the time. Always, Thank for the laughs as alway. Hey! So happy you’re on the road again. I can relate to avoiding bad weather. I always tried. One time, I got caught in a snow storm in New Mexico, and I had to muster up courage to keep going, like you did. :) Re: Las Vegas, I never found a place I could stealth camp, even in Henderson. So, I always settled for hotels in LV. Favorite thing: The buffets. :) I’ve been in Lake Tahoe CA for a few years now. White-out snow outside. Stuck inside. Still hate driving in snow/ice. Drive safely!

There's a rest area just pass Daylight Pass road on Scotty's castle road, super clean restroom and quiet. I car camp there a lot. When the sand storms kick up you can see stovepipe wells area being blasted, that area remains safe from the blast. I've also stayed at the Atomic Inn in Beatty, NV. Really nice rooms at a great price. Smokin' J's BBQ is really good too.

OOoOO I was there....gather water a nice flashlights and go to the hot springs during the day you will not regret it. I do hear sometimes they do seances out there at night ever so often... as matter fact you'll see where the candles are usually placed in the rocks on the wall. They have been known to do break-ins at the parking so lockups stevie real good. Personally I put my shades up when I leave the vehicle so people have a fifty-fifty chance of getting f***** up. If they choose to break and they don't know what they're getting into. ... pSTake plenty of water with you and no cute boots...take some hiking shoes. You don't have to listen to this rando but you will regret it if you don't take plenty of water and hiking shoes. Enjoy the journey vanilla and safe travels.
