I'd argue someone that is going to try and watch a girl on her own 'change' is quite creepy and potentially dangerous to begin with.

Why is the world so creepy. So many freaks out there. To be honest while it may seem 'sexist' in todays climate, I'd have serious reservations about a girl related to me in some way living on her own in a mobile vehicle touring the US, or most countries for that matter. I just don't think it's safe.

Hi Alyssa - I love what you're doing. It's so important that solo women travellers aren't intimidated into not pursuing adventures on their own. You give hope and courage to others, by refusing to conform to the 'helpless little lady' stereotypes. Got to say, though, your instinct around creepy-water-guy! The prolonged stare and how the guy he was trying to warn you about just happened to have the same motivation for stalking around lone women travellers as he did!! "I hand out water to anyone that needs it", he says, whilst clearly carrying zero water! I have a question - do you ever get lonely being by yourself so much? Seeing you at the climbing wall I felt for you. Do you regularly connect with other nomads, or do you actually prefer being in your own company?

As an older guy, I can also say that if it were me who had approached you warning you of something that I had seen, I'd have been strongly aware that I could be seen to be a threat. For that reason I'd have not turned off my engine, and would have moved off as soon as I felt you had been warned and understood the situation. So, yeah, like so many others in these comments, there were huge red-flags there. I'm sorry that there are people out there spoiling solitude and peace for those seeking it in nature.
