I live in my suv because California is expensive and I don't want to live with strangers. For me the most difficult aspects are privacy and keeping from boredom, not to mention the lack of space. Being 6ft tall it gets cramped but my plan is to buy a rv then possibly try and work up to buying land and building a small home first. I like your videos and maybe two nomadic people like ourselves might cross paths someday. Good luck to you

Alyssa, good that you have glasses as a backup to your contact lens. When you have allergies and your eyes are not comfortable, it’s good to give the contacts a break. You don’t know how many of my patients have contact lenses an have no eyeglasses as a back up and they end up with an infection and they cannot wear their contact lenses, so they have to walk around in a blur. Also, there are supply chain issues with all the major contact lens manufacturers so getting your contact lenses can take up to 2 months to get.

I used to have land up in NE AZ and the dust made me sick as well. I used my covid masks when I went outside and that helped a lot! A diffuser or humidifier help as well, but ultimately a change of scenery is best, esp when your soul needs it too!

Hello, liked this video. 🙂👍 Ok, the following is just my opinion….. I’m getting ready to hit the road and I know there’s lots to do within the van just from day to day. BUT that doesn’t mean I won’t get bored so I’ve looked up websites that show LOTS of places, even ones that aren’t popular. Lots of them are free. To me, stimulating the brain with new/fresh sights, sounds, etc., is one way to keep from feeling SOOOO bored or “closed in”. Oh also…..and again, THIS IS JUST MY OPINION…..I’m also prone to headaches and on rare occasion, a migraine. I keep Exedrine handy for that. Right as I feel it coming on, I take one. For me, it doesn’t completely stop it but it “takes the edge off”. Ok, well like I said, great video. Take care and stay safe!👍🙂

Yep Cowgirl, that dust will get you. I do not enjoy desert camping. Dust and hard winds. At least if you go a lil further up north the trees will block that wind some. I don't really like the hot weather but I love the freedom of AZ. It's crazy how those two go together. (Not right now, Superbowl traffic is crazy, lots of really bad drivers.) Cowboys boots and shorts don't look good as a combo on me. It's like I'm cowboy by winter and Steve Irwin by summer with my hiking shoes and shorts. I bet that would make a good song, lol. Hang in there. It can get a little depressing adventure living, being in the same spot. We adventure to see new things and when we stay too long in one area, it sets in. Then it's time for a new camp spot. Even if it's just 100 miles down the road, it will make a difference.

I go to acupuncture weekly, and this week my Acupuncturist explained to me that it was Chinese new year, and that this year is the year of the Rabbit. Which means that it's going to be chill. The world , and our country is going to finally CALM the hell down. meaning, with all the political nonsense, hate, anger, presidential drama, Putin, etc. He also explained, that last year was the year of the Tiger which evidently represented chaos, war and instability. I found that really accurate and interesting... Anyways, I thought i'd share that. I had a TERRIBLE year last year, probably the worst year of my life to be honest. I am also looking forward to some happiness and stability. You are not alone, my spirit has been needing something more for a while... hang in there! And I hope you feel better on a more constant basis! Be safe!

I think you'll have a happy and interesting year, learn new skills, and make improvements in all sorts of ways Maybe finding a place with cool misty mornings, real trees, flowers and grass will help you avoid dust and dirt. Some nice days with a light breeze, and some new friends around your age will bring out a nice big smile on you more often. Don't let any mechanics overcharge you, get a few to give you a free diagnosis and quote before shelling out money. In the meantime, chase nice weather until you get the AC fixed. Stay strong, I think you've done great so far, considering all the things which could have ended much worse than they did. Including having an AC leak instead of a dead van. Just handling the creepy water guy incident with nerves of steel and coming out of it OK, in a way made 2022 a very good year for you, no matter what else happened. I'm glad van fears aren't paralyzing you. Think about it this way. The average place in the USA might be a better place to have a breakdown, than Quartzsite. It's not as if you have an army of honest, inexpensive mechanics there watching over you. Almost anywhere you go now, you won't be far from a bunch of subscribers. Most are good people, and you'll do a good job of figuring out who isn't. Have people you trust around, when you meet people you're not sure about, or just don't meet anyone you're not sure about.

I very first safari van was some as ur Steve. I had over 300000 miles on that fine machines. I just got my seventh safari this weekend. It has only 64000 on it. No rust, I'm from Michigan. Personally, I think it’s been weird for all of us. I grew up in AZ and as someone who uses contacts man it sucked on those windy days and that hot dry air. I'm curious as to why you picked Quartzsite out of all places in AZ?

I’ve been in Quartzsite since last month, and there was a lot to do like the WRTR, RTR, Big Tent, Van Aid, Schoolie event, among other things. I also spent most of my time outdoors. I enjoyed my time, and new friendships while being there. Enjoy the rest of your time there, and safe travels.❤
