You could always build a hotel or wear house near your train station with your storage and crafting tables to take up the space between town and your train.

FYI, IF you are going to connect all of your tracks together, all of you will need to have the tacks using the same direction of travel or the tracks will not connect. It will be difficult if you do not use one section of track to set all the others. Also, it is impossible to make a dead end loop.

I guess you wouldn't need to make a loop as such just a run off like they do with cargo trains, then just reverse them on to the main line, with how expensive it is you'd probably only want to expend just 6/7 tracks to keep the train out, maybe make it a barn that it goes into would be pretty cool

You and the boys should do a collaborative video. Like a 2v2 resource grind to help grind the tracks. Build 2 identical central crafting stations, and whoever builds the most tracks winner takes all the tracks to build with. It would be a good reason to seek and bread farming dinos.

i have 100+ hrs with just the trains. i have built a rail system over half the map and back to make a loop. they are one of the funest things i played with in ark. when driving, no dino agros, you can just ride and chill checking out dino’s. build a clay farm on one of the cars and a industal forge on a car. place gen in third car to get full power on all cars.

22:12 I don't know Syntac.... my train I built had all the plants and rocks removed but they respawned blocking my train from moving forward.... check into that. 😢 unless they patched that the train tracks weren't counting as an item in the game that could block respawning.

Just a quick fix is fence foundations around those spawn areas or change the distance things can spawn next to structures.

I had a doedic somehow spawn inside my base and it had been wandering around for days, and before a dino wipe I made sure to tame it and set it to wander inside the base :)

5:25 syntac you needa download the “cheaper trains” mod all it does is reduce the cost of the tracks and I think the actual train parts too by half. I would also assume on pc you might be able to tweak it in the INI settings altho don’t quote me on that last part.

I think it would be super cool to make a stock yards next to your train that can be your breeding area. Stock yards were very common at train stations since cattle train was so big

I love the train so far. My father, R.I.P, was a railroader. He helped build and repair tracks. So this is personally my favorite build of yours. I know you say you don't like doing building videos much but I don't mind it really. You always have great builds that you try to make creative and unique. Get that train rolling! So want to see this finished product.

Idk what your rules/feelings on mods are, but I HIGHLY recommend “cheaper trains”, it halves the cost which I like because it’s still an invest but not insanely so.

Maybe you already do this but little tip for getting metal. If you find metal structures in drops you can destroy them for the materials. Got like alot from the elevator platforms!

Try for a D track at each station so each persons personal train can be in the outer part of the D while parked but still allow others to follow the straight mainline.

trains running on charcoal makes sense from a real world standpoint, but oil would make more sense form a gameplay perspective. With scorched having oil pumps and not much use for large amounts of oil, oil would be a perfect fuel source

When Syntac 'discovers' that you can only have one engine on a track and that one tribe's train can't run on another tribe's track. And... different tribe's track cant connect to another tribe's track. Trains are really only for single player.

Hey Syntac, I did make a big railway. it reached from around the position your base is at, to the wyvern trench and then to the colloseum, back to my base. I don't have the save anymore since it corrupted but I never did allat in survival since that wouldve been around 600k metal or something. maybe more

I believe train platforms in those days were lower to the actual track and ppl climbed up to the cars by walking up steps to enter the trains, hence the term “climb aboard!!”. You are building them closer to how current trains and stations work which might be where the issue lies.

You may be able to add a railing and snap ceilings to the top of them, to make the platform more flush with the train, I don’t know if this still works but it did in ASE

So, you could build forges and a smithy on one of the cars, load up the Anky and Agent Travis and harvest metal and other materials while you are building tracks for the train, on the train as you travel the route that you build.

@Syntac Hey man I love the videos, I also get a really good laugh in when you get jumped by Microraptors. One of the most infuriating things in ark. With that said there is a mod you might want to check out. Anti-Dismount Potion. It was specifically made just because the maker HATES microraptors. Thank you for all the fun and entertainment. Wish I had friends like you guys to play ark with.

24:27 i have about 100 hrs just with the trains. i built a full rail system to all our admin bases and server owners base. they are one way tracks. so no matter how you build it it has to be a loop or you are stuck going backwards. i also build small turn outs for us to pass each other.

I play on Single Player and I just completed placing the rails. It goes from where you said Jim's base is to the backside of Green Ob, to your base and back. It has been a lot of work but it looks good. I am working on pillars and trying to make it look a lot better.

been working on my railroad for a week now it goes from one end of the map to the other and I shudder at the amount of materials I've spent. On the upside, my train has only used 50 charcoal total so they are super efficient.

you could just reduce train size to half, and remove some ceilings to test if train comes near platfrom without any issue. You should also move forges on top of the train cart to avoid going back and forth for carts and tracks

Hey love the vids. Just an idea you can make a cart or 2 of just vaults so you have a rail system that goes near a major metal spawn . Bring your argy and anky to overtime collect vaults full of raw metal and then hual all of it back to ur base and have a racer or some Dino transfer metal back in forth to ur forge area

Back in the American old west, trains ran off of coal and steam. Since the only "coal" in ark is charcoal, it makes complete sense why the trains run off charcoal. It's actual more surprising that it doesn't require water.

Foundation support tip, you can have 2 ceilings out from each foundation, so you can make a snake of foundations, leaving 4 empty spaces inbetween. Will save you a lot of foundations in the long run.

I made a track from red ob ruins over the mountain to the church like ruins around the whole mountain back to red ob and up to the ruins. Over 80 percent was supported by pillars. I built a base in each ruins seeing metal is so close. Biggest issue you guys are going to encounter is not being able to build through drop locations so you have to detour around them somehow. The no building areas are a decent radius and you won’t know wythey are until you hit it and then have to pickup tracks and do trail and error to find a route.
