The speech he gives before Florida 2009: “Lowlands, I know the night is still young. Like a wise man once said, ‘The night is still young, like us forever.’ I ask a little patience, I ask a little silence. Because I want to share something with you. And I find this nerve wracking. I’m very nervous. I once wrote a poem right after my father passed away. I was about 12 years old. A year later I finished the poem, with a second part on the back (of the original poem). Grab/hold someone next to you, with consent. If you’re here with your friends, with your family. Even if you are alone, hold yourself. Once again, with consent. And Lowlands, I want to tell you the story of Florida.” The idea of him completing the poem a year later because his mother died is heartbreaking. His dad died of cancer when he was 12 and his mother when he was 13. (Cardiac arrest.)

A key moment that I tought of right away with the Joost incident, is when one of the guys shouts before starting the Moshpit, "Blijf van de artiesten af!", don't touch the artists.. and "We helpen elkaar, als iemand valt.." We help each other, when someone falls. So you can join in, Joostfans will protect you in the Moshpit.

You should watch Florida 2009 with proper subtitles. It is heartbreaking and beautiful, hopefully there is a translation video somewhere

19:58 He actually said that with europapa he tried to put a whole show of his into one song, which is party, even bigger party and then serious because he wants to reach an ''emotional climax'' with the audience and he believes thats done by building up the happy mood and then switching it to the serious song

You react the same way as I do on Joost and his music. Fantastic. And more special is it that it is not in your language and still you feel/understand the frequency of Joost. You also HSP?😘 I admire Joost sooo much that he is able to expres all of his emotions on stage. He helps me to learn to express it too,to release all my trauma emotions. He is so special and unique.

Aaaah, I used to listen to Prodigy all the time, when I was young. Still love them. Thank you for reacting to this concert of Joost. Had you seen the press conference after the second semi final of Eurovision? Joost was hidden under a flag like you watched here at the end of the concert, Florida 2009. In Malmö during that press conference you could see, he was in a bad place. Something had happened and we all know now indeed something had happened. He was the one feeling unsafe that evening. Even knowing he made it to the final, and off course he was happy as well. But hidden under a flag, he wasn't feeling safe. That's how we, the fans, knew he was not disrespectful or hating anyone. This is Joost feeling vulnerable and just wanting to disappear 💙💙💙💙💙💙

Hi Noosh, nice to see you so enthusiastic! Now you also can see Joost always hides behind a flag when he gets emotional. The press conference at Eurovision was just after the ordeal with the camera lady. Although it’s was bad timing to do so at that moment (Israel thought he did it out of disrespect)and it didn’t look sympathetic at the time, now you’ve seen the proof. London tickets I often see come by on ‘X’. I don’t know if you’re on X but when it comes along again I’ll send you a message.

I love this video and watch it repeatedly. I watched his 2019 performance at Lowlands last night and was heading to watch this again when I saw your video posted. I love the concept of them miming the whole beginning. The ending gets me every time. I will post the translation of what he is saying before Florida 2009 if no one sends it first.

Europapa is one of his concert put in one somh, he said that in an interview. That's why the slow soft beautiful emotional ending of Europapa. I'm going to see him next week on one of the festivals where he will perform. Can't wait. Going nuts here. 😊

Dear, love your videos. Especially the ones of Joost. I am dutch, and noticed you clearly didnt know the song Florida 2009 (the last one). Its a poetry about his dad and mom and some very personal stuff. Please watch this song at Pinkpop festival where he did it live for the first time. Also make sure you have lyrics. I lost my parents at a young age too similar to Joost his story. Im a 29 year old guy, never cries, but this song hits me everytime. Im very sure you’ll shed a tear haha.

If you haven't, react to Wachtmuziek!! You heard a remix of it here, but the music video is great & includes a piece from his song Life Story at the beginning of it. I deff recommend reading the translated lyrics online, though, because for a lot of his video either don't have captions or they hardly work 😅

Noosh,much too short,your reactionvideo 😉. There maybe an emotional reason for the facemask. At one point during this concert (10:50) Joost says: behind this mask, there are a little Joost tears. (His innerchild)
