The opening has a lot symbolism about Paul passing the torch to Rudeus. There`s another thing that can be guessed from the opening, goof thing you didn`t notice.

@@alejandroacevedo505 SPOILER Not sure what he was referring to, but that's not Rudeus caressing Paul's armor, it's Zenith (Rudeus doesn't have two hands after all). That shows that at the very least, Zenith recognizes Paul's death.

Once you've finished the last episode someone suggested that the baby that you don't see the face of at about 7 seconds into the OP isn't Rudeus, but actually Lucy, and I also think that's the case.

I’m glad I waited to watch as well. Also good job for actually avoiding the OP until now, pretty much every other reactor let themselves get spoiled. Not really their fault tho Studio Bind showed way too much here. I’m praying season 3 we can go back to season 1 openings! Also you should react to Paul’s cd drama for his death scene that’s making its rounds across the internet/twitter. It’s apparently written by the OG author but not in the light novel and shows Paul’s final thoughts.

If Studio Bind goes back to the original OP style for season 3, I will make a one hour MT season 1 opening style appreciation video and just talk about all the reasons why this was such a great idea in the first place. I haven't seen/heard of the CD drama (regarding Paul's death), but I'll look into it!

Finally, spoilers aside, what a great OP! lol There is still a simple image "spoiler" but it is practically undetectable until it happens in the anime (or you read the LN). I also liked the detail of the flower, at first you can look for the symbolism, maybe it has it, but the important thing is where the flower is and in the background you can see a invocation circle drawn. i'm not sure if you read my comment in the ep 21 video, a little info about Rapan City. But more than likely someone else already provided the detailed info haha If you look carefully in the first OP of the second season "Spiral" they also gave a small glimpse of a transportation circle at the labyrinth ( in the beginning when the picture lights up blue representing Roxy). The predictions video is going to be more than interesting to watch xD

This is weird... my voice is not coming out... I can't move... my body, either. Rudeus: Calm down... what changes if you've lost your left hand? The Hydra was a pretty strong enemy. "You saved me, Father." Elinalise: No way... Roxy: No... Geese: Hey, hey... really now...? Paul: Everyone... is making a face I've already seen before. It's the face people put on when someone dies... Rudeus: "...Father? Huh? Why are you lying down? Eh? Why... Are you missing your lower body? Eh?" Paul: Ahhh... So that's it. It was me, huh. Before the last head fell down unto Rudy, I kicked him. And then, instead, the Hydra fell on me. My lower half was eaten by the Hydra in one shot, and I lost it. A wound like this... can't be helped by healing magic. Rudeus: W-why... Paul: My vision has turned completely dark... I can't breathe... can't talk either... am I dying? At least... I wanted to confirm... whether Zenith is alive or not. Not only that... Norn and Aisha. I wanted to see them again... Are they going to school? Have they grown up? Lillia... what kind of face will she make? Even if it's only troublesome... will she cry? God damn it... I'm filled with regrets... I don't want to die. Still... there are... so many things... As a LN reader, I was so scared that they could fumble on the Hydra episode. But Bind delivered even more than what I could ask for. I am so hype for all the fighting and despair in season 3 now.

You can see rudy looking at the gravestone with paul behind him. It litterly shows is that. I cant believe they showed it at 2:04 (and a couplenframes before) and as i knew whatbwas coming in couldn't believe it

Btw the one who holds Paul's arms guard is zenith and not Rudeus bcs Rudeus rn doesn't have his heracles (his left hand)

It's strange to think that Rudeus was very happy there. He had the chance to go through suffering and depression, to be so weak at this point in the anime. Being very satisfied with his current power. About the episode, I like to think about what I could do better, to have more impact, I had the idea of putting a quick flashback when he saw Paul, of the moments Rudeus spent with him, the good and the bad, like in the bar fight For me, there are 3 moments in Mushoku's work, which offer a shock similar to Paul's level. They haven't arrived yet, the second moment is not that far away and I would say it is a turning point. Paul's death at the time really shook me, he was the one who made so many efforts to help people, sacrificing their happiness, to achieve this...

It appears season 3 will be the season all the MT fanbase will be waiting for. For me Paul was written in such a way that he was a major impact in the story, even though he wasn't in very many episodes (considering). He was a flawed man, who worked to atone for his past actions or fix them in a way where he believed it was a better course of action.
