Not scary at all :) I failed Inktober this year as I only completed about 18 challenges. :( BUT I'm going to create a challenge for myself every single month. I was able to finish Inktober this year. I found it easier this year because the only pressure I put on myself was to post SOMEthing of ink each day. I started out with a Harry Potter theme and then moved to The Nightmare Before Christmas since this was my first time using ink. I even tried dip pens for the last 8 days and they're now my favorite. I feel that people put way too much emphasis on making everything look completely perfect each day and sometimes that's not plausible unless you have 1-3 hours every day to draw something. Traveling takes up a lot of my time for work so on those days, I just drew creatures. It turned out that I now have 31 complete drawings and I'm so proud! Next year, I'll try out your prompt list. I kept seeing it pop up in my feed and I liked what you picked! Cheers!

I followed your prompt list this year and it was definitely my favorite one I found! I used pencil instead of ink because I wasn't going to be home much of the time so it was easiest to bring a sketchbook with me. I tried to draw every day, but I was more focused on just getting myself to draw a greater variety of things than keeping up with a timeline; I ended up squishing days I missed together into one drawing to catch up, which ended up really working for me and gave me some fun ideas. I super enjoyed following along with your art and this video did not feel like it was 40 minutes long. Thank you for sharing!

The sepia definitely reminds me of The Arrival by Shaun Tan... I'm sure plenty of people know of him and his book, but either way I feel like these drawings are descendants. I also recommend the illustrator Jon Klassen. I used to work as a kids bookseller and always wanted to find a way to include his books in storytime. Interestingly, I sometimes stayed away thinking younger kids would not appreciate the color schemes, but that's underestimating isn't it.

This was the first year I did inktober without trying to do daily videos for my entries- it was nice being able to focus more on the piece and not worrying about reserving time for editing, but that means I also made the pieces bigger and more complex to compensate. Because of that, I still didn't end up finishing. :'D In the end I decided that in addition to my art for school, it was just too stressful and that I didn't deserve to be put through it! Looking back, I still accomplished more than I thought I would and beat out my previous years by more than double! Maybe next year I'll compromise and instead of doing one illustration a day, I'll do one complex one for each week? Thanks for sharing your experience -- I loved the long format of this video!

I would love to see a video on how to Photoshop your images ready for print and instagram and maybe your process when creating digital art.
