Congradulations on this accomplishment kind sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar. I bought Morrowind on Steam 10 years ago and have installed it likely over 10 times, and over 10 years and havn't played more than 10 minutes of the game because the crab that attacks you in the begining of the game is harder than anything on Elden Ring. I recommend trying out the game Crypt Of The Necrodancer, I've just played it and it's a blast!

I’ve been trying to get into Morrowind for the past 15 years, and it just never worked out because the combat rng is brutal. No idea what changed this time, but i’m getting through the story in the southern part of the island, and it’s great

Probably picked a combat skill at the start that got things to about 30-40, where you'll reliably hit. And kept fatigue up.

Weird I played this game as a kid, I love it, but my gripe was I always found it a bit too easy. If you find yourself in difficult fights early on, I question what you are doing.

​@@dinckelmanweird, iirc spells are one of the harder things. Still, if you want to really make things easy, you get the same progression for a spell cast no matter the difficulty. So make a min cost max chance spell and spam it as you walk around. If you get exquisite jewellery or deadric stuff and a powerful enough soul trapped (read: golden saint) you can also give yourself permanent enchant regen for stamina, magicka ect.

I found this game extremely difficult when I first played it because of the RNG aspects of it and the lack of guidance at the start. At level 1 I went into that little bandit lair just outside of Seyda Neen and got blasted by all those guys in there doing magic shit while my little sword guy kept whiffing. Took me a very long time to approach Morrowind the way that the game wants you to.@@onekata

The thing with Morrowind is that the environment is interesting, the loot not leveled, the culture so alien. Its so easy to play without touching the main quest at all. I found important quest items like keening without doing the main quest at all and I am sure this isn't uncommon, like what is this awesome looking dagger, ain't no way I am selling this.

Ash storms will continue because the place is dominated by a giant volcano. But the Bight storms are gone. So the storms are not red anymore but just dust. One of the best things about Morrowind us getting lost just exploring and then you bump into so many hidden smuggler caves, evil cults, and quests.
