My parents renovated thier kitchen a couple of years ago and used IKEA and it was apparently so easy to design, and the installer did an excellent job! They kept their stove and oven and just upgraded the kitchen benchtops, kitchen sink and managed to add space in the corners of the cabinets thanks to rounded lazy susan-style shelves inside the corners. Highly reccomend, they could customise everything @@deligracy

33:44 Deli, it's in lighting. 😂 I often use this object and often look for it in clutter too! Haha. So now I recite "It's a light, a ring light" to myself whenever I'm looking for it to remember. 😂 Love this reno! What a glow up!

I totally remember this build!! I’ve been one of your biggest fans since Sims3 and when you lived in your small apartment. I first seen Jame when y’all did the sticky notes on your fridge and then added them to your wall. You were totally into Clear furniture at that time!!

7:53 The roofing not painted correctly isnt a glitch! When it doesnt work it means you havent added a ceiling onto the room. Adding the plain ”floor” on top of the room isnt enough to make a proper paintable ceiling, you need to click the room, go up once and add a ceiling onto the lower room by clicking the yellow borders of it. Then you can paint it. Hope this helps!

Hi Deli! An idea for your kitchen reno: you can have fun with the details! Depending on what you guys are thinking, you could thrift some really nice things like a nice hanging light, a vintage kitchen tap, vintage handles for the cabinets, things like this that can really uplift the room, give some personality, and be budget friendly at the same time. It will only require some time to dig in Melbourne's antiques 😂

Deli, the ceiling painting glitch you mentioned: instead of selecting the room and adding ceiling you put platforms down, so you couldnt paint those tiles because the game does not recognize a ceiling is there to be painted

Ok fact it thinks it's floor and makes the house more than 100 tiles, wich doesn't allow for microhomes.

Omg we hope to update our kitchen this year also! Ours is also from the 70s and the cabinets and countertops are just old, even the backsplash. I can't wait to get a renovated kitchen. I feel you every time you talk about how you like the ikea kitchen or your ideal kitchen. Loved this tiny home have fun on your vacation!!

I'd say just renovate your home in a way that will make you happy! That's what we decided to do and we LOVE walking into our new kitchen. It'll sell -- maybe not for how much you'd like it to sell for, but it will -- so do what makes you happy :) And you can definitely make a dream kitchen on a budget! That said, I LOVE seeing old builds and renovating them. It was really cool to see, and I love what you did with this tiny home. Have a lovely break!

I work as a kitchen designer at IKEA, and I love the kitchens pricewise! You can also choose to get your appliances, worktop and doors elsewhere to spice it up, but the options for cabinets, smart storage and handy gadgets like cuttlery inserts etc are limitless!

I live near Palm Springs and Oasis Springs is definitely Palm Springs. The dinosaurs are on the way and Route 66 is nearby, if you know that lot with the view of the dinosaur, thats a very Route 66 vibe they’re going for.

Hey Deli, Freedom kitchens were so amazing to deal with and were much cheaper than most of the other companies. I think ours were like 2k more then a ikea kitchen and the quality is amazing !!

going back and renovating older builds is always fun! I agree about havng to build houses/lots specifically for certain worlds like oasis springs, I have always seen it as being inspired by Arizona and or New Mexico in the US so for my saves that is a vibe I tend to go for when I build for the world

My parents and I recently renovated our kitchen and we got all the cabinets and counters from Ikea! They have a super big assortment that is pretty budget friendly! We were able to renovate the kitchen ourselves this way!

My fave rug is Deep Thoughts from HSY, and some of the rugs from City Living. I wish EA would bring back doilies for coffee tables and tables. You can really go boho or shabby chic with those. For the ceiling I like to use the sparkly tile for bathrooms, it looks like all of the ceilings in homes I grew up in, it only needs more stucco texture. \

Had a build that took me 20 hours, wanted to do something quicker - somehow ended up taking me 30 hours. To answer your question early on, yes, I believe Oasis Springs is meant to be based on Palm Springs. I’m not sure if the sims team has ever officially confirmed it, but the combination of mid-century mod and Spanish revival houses are very reminiscent of that area, as well as the desert landscape obviously. Even the dinosaur statues are seemingly inspired by similar ones just outside of Palm Springs (look up the Cabazon Dinosaurs, they’re amazing).
