I bought a used 1986 Kramer Focus 3000 for $200 20 years ago. Awesome guitar. Teal blue/turquoise. Original Floyd Rose. It still kicks ass!

Nice work. I like Kramer and have a Focus 2000 (Made by ESP for Kramer) and an XL II. The XL II was my first guitar and Korean made. Not well thought of, but I put in a Jackson pickup that a friend sold me from his Charvel back in 1992 and it sounds good. I just cannot believe how much Kramer USA guitars are going for today There was a used Kramer Custom II on Guitar Center a few days ago. It looked to be in good shape, but they wanted $1300.00 for it. I just could not justify paying that much for an 80s guitar, but someone did.

I remember seeing the pickups for sale in the old Carvin magazines. They were very affordable and came stock in all their guitars. They're really nice I have to admit! 😎🤟🏻

Man I miss my Kramer so so much, bought it new back in 1986 I was 19 and think I paid around $800 for it and I worked 8 to 10 hours a day with a 90 lb. jackhammer in my hands to pay for that thing. It was a Pacer Imperial in Candy Blue with a Maple Fretboard with Banana Headstock which is extremely rare it turns out because I remember reading something like when Eddie caught wind that they were turning out guitars with Maple Fretboards he asked them to stop because he didn't want them copying his guitar or something I don't know, You know that feeling when you play a guitar and it just feels like it was made for you? Well that was the one, I couldn't put it down and then unfortunately I left it with a so called friend for safekeeping when I had to go out of town to Tennessee for work and upon returning discovered that the POS sold my Guitar and my Amp this was not a good day for me and especially not for him and his head. Needless to say I was destroyed and despite my efforts I never got it back.

That's all that I've ever owned, American made 80s guitars. Till recently, bought EVH guitars and newer Kramer. Nice find, and excellent work Marty. Thanks for sharing what you've done. That Floyd is the real deal! Love it man!

@@dane4453 Very comparable in my opinion. The newer Kramer 84 Reissue took more to setup the way that I like it. It's an absolute rocking machine. I think that I like the Seymour Duncan JB pickup that it came with better than the Wolfgang pickup in my EVH Striped Series.

Yeah buddy nice find. I just bought one of these a few weeks ago the guy did a re-fret mine has a broken headstock repair also it adds character he also made it a volume only which is all you need. Mine is red it’s getting a new set of DiMarzios installed this week.

I just parted together an old, 80s, Frankenstein's Monster, Stupor Stratish type of guitar shaped thing. The neck is an identical Kramer Pacer series neck. The headstock is rock solid too. Your's must have definitely taken a hard knock. Weird though. Never seen one split quite like that.

It looks like the screw hole for the locking nut may have been the root of the issue? Maybe the wood just got really dry over the years. Especially if it was in a hot TN barn for years. 🤷

just got out my 1983 kramer focus 2000 today and restrung it. i put a set of carvin c22s in it around 2012. They snd great!!! Anything carvin is good quality. I paid like 130dls for the set with bezels!!! No black n blu dood? wth? lol

The Dean Exile fr I got cheap which goes for almost 600.00 I only paid two$ and it's brand new. I got a great deal for setting up that jazz bass. like yours but it doesn't have a route for the back of the whammy bar,same as yours does. they did that for the wolfgangs which don't have the top route it's kind of strange that they would do that you have to take the Floyd off if you want to do any adjustments behind it. If the bolt got. loose you would have to take the floyd right off to tighten it. I don't know. it's the only Floyd Rose I have with the top route maybe they do that on purpose so you don't change the sound of the guitar taking too much wood off since it has a top route. Anyway let me know what you think? by the way that's a great find yes I'll take that for free take it home and give it a bath😎 Very cool find and free I'll take it😎
