Hi nice video … I have had my 2010 xf from new ( longest car I have had) I do everything myself on it …. Can I just point something out about your brakes install ….. all xf need to have brakes calibrated which you seam to of miss doing ….. it’s simple …. Disconnect battery and leave for 10 minutes..reconnect and sit in drivers seat .. switch on ignition without starting car and instructions will come up on dash …. Pull hand brake and press foot brake same time ……. But the problem with xf is they don’t hold there value as people think there expensive to run but they are not … parts are cheaper from Jaguar themselves that places like Europarts …… did you know you can check the history of the can by its hidden dash secret button ….. press satnav … and put your finger top of screen in middle and press … it then goes into jaguar diagnostic mode ….. nice job with your car I’ll be keeping mine till it dies

Love the attitude of just learning by doing Headlight restoration is a solid process only sand if needed but for longevity you need to clear coat them after or they will yellow again within not time at all. Looking forward to the video on what you need to do to set up as a trader. Mate be careful! One of my best purchases was a set of (metal) ramps it’s 2 for 30 quid so buy 4 on BF deals and put them in front of each wheel then just drive up this way car is in the air a few feet but safe and level, nothing can happen at all! Well done again on this one, channel is shaping up nicely!
@AI-Records24Ай бұрын
Also if you buy ones that are too high to get under both axels same time then reverse up on rears, then jack the front up then put them under, or wack a spare wheel under each front wheel instead of buying 4. If this makes sense😂

In the x260 you can just pull the front of the undertray back. It is flexible. You don’t need to remove the entire undertray. The bolts are often corroded.

I owned a very similar XF to yours until recently - a 2010 3.0 V6 petrol - loved mine and was quite sorry to see it go. Oil changes were a pain - I used to put it on axle stands on the chassis rails near to the jacking points - I would take the whole undertray off but not the one under the front bumper - always greased the undertray bolts when I put it back to avoid them rusting. The sump plug has a rubber washer that acts as a seal - it is recommended that you replace the plug every so often. Rear brakes are quite straightforward but I never had to do a calliper so well done on that - at that price it was the way to go. Yours looked a nice example but the problem with the 3.0 petrol engine is the £710 VED which will deter some buyers plus they are fairly thirsty cars although better on long runs. Personally I think 4k for the car is it a bit high, I found my old XF being advertised on Autotrader by a small dealer, he started at £3990 but quickly reduced it to £3490 and then it went within a week - perhaps cars sell for more in London?

If you use a trolly jack to work under car at least put a full size spare wheel under with you. Gives you survival space should the worst happen. Obvs I don’t recommend using trolly jacks for working under but it’s your choice.
