Well the 2000s routine would be : -Waking up 20-30 minutes after hitting the snooze button 5-6 times. - Getting some coffee ☕ - Do skincare and brushteeth - Go on tiktok,watch Netflix or the news while eating a toast with another cup of coffee - stay on your device for an extra 60 minutes - take a 1 hour shower - complain and shame your body for 5 minutes in the mirror - take 30-40 minutes on picking an outfit -still feel bad about your body and do 2 squats for encouragement - realize your late so you take granola bar and water to school or work - go to work or schools and do tiktoks during the day , talk about influences and celebrities, shame people on Twitter etc... -go home and realize you haven't mad your bed..bruh😐

Me: * romanticizing the Victorians* Also, me: *realizes they washed their hair only when they absolutely had to, never washed their outer garments, used corncobs as toilet paper, powdered their faces with lead, used fermented whale poop as perfume, and that the most effective treatment for hysteria was being pregnant* yeah, no thanks
@makaelaischillin
@makaelaischillin 3 жыл бұрын
1. They washed their hair frequently, although cuts were generally not done for women and knee length hair takes a while(I should know, I wash 1 in every three days and sacrifice 2 hours that day to get it ready and washed not to mention the 10 hours it takes to dry) 2. They did not wash their outer garments yes, but their chemises kept the sweat from them 3. They did have toilet paper by this time, and they also used newspapers, where do you get corncob? 4. By this point the dangers of lead were known, are you thinking of the Elizabethan Era? 5. Okay now I’ve never heard this one, they used things like orange blossoms and rose water for perfumes, it was quite the business 6. I don’t know the most common treatment for hysteria in women although doctors thought it laid in the womb and overies.

@@makaelaischillin Well, I'm not an expert, but I saw this in a book made by a female historian, I could be wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also, technically toilet paper was invited during the middle of the century, the corncob came before that. I don't know if the corncob part is true, but I saw it mentioned in two different instances so who knows.

Yep. Thats why when the british and other europeans like the Spanish colonized the Americas, the natives had to teach them how to bathe properly. The natives carried incense everywhere the colonizers went, and they thought that it was out of respect but it was because of the stench🤢

@@honeybrown6953 I'm not entirely sure where this started but they couldn't easily shower so they had towel baths "showers 1x a day or every other day with routine baths when they could in victorian england but as you could imagine it's hard to come by large tubs and clean water. Showering, bathing, using soap and wash cloths, etc. would not be new to Europeans in the Americas at the time.
