I have been looking for this lately. Thank you!! My hair is as long as yours and is falling flat like a curtain. I was almost certain that the butterfly cut would give me some layers, but not the three or four layers I think I need. Now I see that I need to combine the butterfly cut with the face framing layers tutorials, and maybe even the curtain bangs, too. You are the inspiration I needed!!

What does it look like straight tho? I think it still has a few steps in it not blended well & you'd be able to notice it when it's straight. Looks cute curled tho.

It looks nice when straight, it looks like I have face framing layers in the front which is nice for me personally. The back I can't really tell I have layers when it's straight, only when it's curled or wavy, then they are more prominent :)

Shew, my hair is almost the same length as your before … it needs cut with layers, but it’s taken me since 2018 to grow it out from a buzz cut 😩 I like how yours turned out. It’s still long, but now with layers to add volume. I need to just take the plunge already lol

Shorter does wonders. I know it's hard to let go of super long hair after years but you can do so much more with long layers and some length of. Looks gorgeous

Thank you! Yes, so you do exactly the same thing but don't trim it down afterwards. (I trimmed off like 3 inches more, bc personally I wanted it shorter, not shown in video) So you would still split the hair into 2 parts, cut them the same way I showed, then voilà! You'll still have the same length but also added layers!

Don't let fear hold you back! You got this! (I would cut it longer layers first, see if you like it or want to go shorter. (Also if you mess up really badly (which you won't) you can always go get it professionally done/fixed lol) Thank you so much!🥰

You're blessed with beautiful long hair! Nice!! If you do decide to cut it, I recommend this cut, it doesn't shorten the length it just gives you long layers 😊 (I personally trimmed the ends more afterwards bc I wanted my hair shorter)

Um I feel like it's about the same-ish for me. With straight hair I had to style it, curl it, braid it.. all that. Bc it was so long. Now, I just do a few curls in the morning and it looks good! I definitely get ready quicker now than I did before.
