Honestly it mh world. There are so many random achievements that are just boring or annoying and I don't like playing World to begin with so there is not much(or nothing) to do when I feel bored from doing achievements

Rise was really generous to me with monster Record sizes. Thanks to that, it was the first MH game in which I got all of the rewards/trophies. I got most of my crowns in Expeditions. In base Rise I once got 6 size records in one expedition to the Sandy Plains. I got the Gold crown records for Tigrex, Diablos and Valstrax. And I got the mini crowns for Diablos, Rathian and Barroth. I also got a silver crown record for Almudron, but those don't count. Meanwhile, in Freedom Unite, it has been about 14 years and 250+ Rathalos later and I still don't have a Gold Crown for him in that game.

14:05 for even more context in short the removed the health boost armor skill and replaced it with the Spirit Birds that you now have to collect during a hunt. Eating in the hub still increases your HP to a max 150HP like in all other MHs.

I crown farmed in base rise on switch before Sunbreak came out, I got them all but it took 700 hours

I wish thee good luck in "platinuming" Sunbreak (it has a gold trophy for the complete trophy but ig it still counts). There's a ridiculous amount of quests and a whole 'nother grind for anomoly rank.

fun fact: valstrax (and consequently his ambush attack) predates elden ring by 5 years i like that the two game series very clearly inspire each other, even though they never interact directly lol, i still think mh and souls should collab sometime!

also this video brings an interesting perspective on mh, i just play the games because i really fucking love them lmao i have 2k hours on world and rise each but i only finished the platinum achievement in rise like a few months ago, and i still don't have the one from iceborne to this day (dang crowns)! i like achievement hunting as much as the other person but mh is not made with the intention of being 100% by anyone but the most obsessive players

not so fun fact about the sandals achievement you can get soft locked out of it due to a certain palico(the one next to the drum) not being interactable after a certain point in the game the only way to talk to him is to join a multiplayer lobby from someone who didn't complete the main storyline

Really enjoyed seeing this. I just finished iceborne platinum so I’m fresh off a similar grind. I’ve played Rise a little but don’t think it’s something I’m interested in getting the platinum. Especially since the community feel for it was a step down which was what made world so fun for me. Regardless looking forward to Wilds soon :)

Rise wasn’t a step-down. It was a different game since it was from a separate team from World.

World was enjoyable enough to 100% rise and sun break just wasn’t. IMO it got very repetitive at the end and just didn’t feel fun anymore. Beat every main challenge solo and that was it for me lmao

I’d argue they’re both about the same regarding how terrible they are to get a Platinum. Both have the awful crown trophies which are completely reliant on RNG. Though I’ll give Sunbreak credit for having higher crown chances than Iceborne did and due to the quick load times making quest restarts much faster.

Both games have their strengths and flaws. However, I do agree Sunbreak started feeling more tedious despite having less hours in the game to Iceborne.
