I will defend Pocket camp to the death because it is one of the only mobile games I've encountered where technically you can actually get every single item without paying real money. You just have to be extremely patient. I've been playing it every single day since the moment it was released without missing a single one. I have not spent a single real cent on it but have everything upgraded to the max since around 2020. "Limited" and event items are constantly reissued so if you dont have enough leaf tickets saved you just have to be patient and wait for the next time they return which is every few months or so.
@SeiferA20019 ай бұрын
Legitimate question: how many nook bucks do you get roughly every day? I ask this because, at least when I played, I struggled to even get 20 nook bucks per day. And when each item easily costs 200-400 bucks and when there’s a quadrillion items to buy… unless I’m missing something, I feel like by “patient” you mean “you can get 10 paid items in half a year” I mean this with no disrespect; I’m legitimately curious what I’m doing wrong here
@holicxhunter9 ай бұрын
@@SeiferA2001 well, theres many ways to earn leaf tickets actually: Through lvling up in both manager lvl & HRA, events & goals, and trek maps. Lvling is the easiest way, you especially get alot when lowlvled. Also, you can get these paid items for free through friend gifts and sometimes in the timmytommy shop! And through events too ofc.

I mean it was released during Nintendos ruff patch 2015-2016 to be precise before the switch came out of course but 2015 to early 2016 was when the wiiu was still a thing and we all know how that went the 3DS was the best selling thing that Nintendo had during that point the handhelds were the only things that were selling way before the switch was an idea which was called the NX at the time
@lexiw.1459 ай бұрын

The best part about the apps is that you can get Platinum points for playing the apps (except for tour), especially Fire Emblem Heroes. I just take all my 5 star characters, put them on auto battle, tap a few times and complete a chapter in like 5 minutes. And you get 100 points for completing each chapter on normal difficulty so it's very, VERY profitable. So if you want to get that one My Nintendo Reward, get your gacha game skills on.

I’ve been playing ac pocket edition recently and pikmin bloom for a couple months now. Ac pocket edition is a little overwhelming when you first start playing but once it settles down you can just come back every 2 hours and meet new villagers which i find nice. I like pikmin bloom cause it makes me actually want to go outside which is nice cause i tend to isolate myself. I like that once a day you can make a postcard and place it anywhere to try and get a specific decor type. It’s definitely not as big as Pokémon go but it also takes up less space as it and you don’t have to have the app open to actually track and get things like you do for go :]

Tbh I actually really liked Mario Run. It feels waay more like an actual console game than 99% of other mobile games. The fact that it has a one-time purchase for the full game is pretty respectable, and I don’t think allowing the player a demo before they buy is all that tricky of them. The levels are actual designed levels, not auto generated infinite scrollers, and they do a good job at adding depth, skill, and some puzzle solving with the limited mechanics. They also have that NSMB difficulty curve where the base level is fun for beginners but there’s plenty of opportunities for more skilled players who want to 100% the game to challenge themselves. Overall I think it’s a pretty respectable game, for a mobile game.

Wanna chime in here on the two games I have the most experience with Dragalia lost & Heroes For the most experienced it's probably Heroes since I've played it since day one and I have seen some pretty weird shit happening with the game over these last few years although I took a massive break from it because well other stuff and pretty much every new unit that gets released is broken to some extent with new skills that make the characters either hit the juice a little too hard or make some completely broken As for DL that game died Too Young Too Soon For a mobile game it had an absolute slapper of an OST in if anyone who's reading this I definitely recommend checking out the OST for this game it is an absolute treat And if you're wondering yes you can still play dragalia even though the game is ded just go on here and look up private servers I think that's the ones that are still running

Tbh as someone who didn't get the final item from the last event, pocket camp still feels fairer than other mobile games I've played. There was one that basically felt like they changed the difficulty of an event. Basically I used to be able to play this event and finish it without spending any money. And it had a % pass rate. I'd be able to win with as low as a 77% passing rate. But after an update and then adding a pack to buy, I couldn't even pass even if I had a 97%... On the first level. It might as well have a minus sign in front of it or say I actually had a 2% pass rate because I'd fail every single time....

The one I play most is Fire Emblem Heroes, I believe I started somewhere at the end of Book IV/start of Book V of the story. This may be just because I play more casually but it does seem pretty generous with Orbs (it’s premium currency you can use for the Gacha pulls) as you get them from a lot of stuff like completing story chapters on different difficulties, log-in bonuses, quest, etc. Tend to save up for when there’s a character I really wanna pull regardless of how meta relevant they are. Have spend some money on it for Orbs though now just mainly pay for FEH Pass as it offers a few conveniences like having multiple back-to-back auto battles (great for training, tempest trials, etc.) Have been getting into Pikmin Bloom more than Pokémon Go and while it has been fun they’ve been locking a lot of the new Decor Pikmin (basically the main collectible) behind events. Wouldn’t mind as much if they didn’t all play the same and force us to use new flowers they introduce just for the events. Would be interesting to see them bring Dragalia Lost to Switch as a “Definitive Edition” with all the stuff for free, just needing to be unlocked over time. Never played it myself but always caught my eye

This also lowkey made me want to go peek on Pocket Camp again; I know I have at least one friend who is absolutely a part of that core audience. Quick note: As far as I can tell, Nintendo has a partnership with Tencent to publish Nintendo games in China and add integrations for things like Wechat pay for purchasing Nintendo titles there, but I don't think Nintendo had anything to do with the development of Wechat itself. I'm pretty sure development of Wechat began half a decade before Nintendo entered the mobile market.

I loved your suggestions at the end for more games that could be rereleased on mobile - I think theyre missing a trick! Some DS games were so innovative, even compared to current mobile games, and they'd be amazing to see on new devices. One I'm actually surprised not to see them do yet is Flipnote!! So many people do digital art on tablets now, I think it'd be incredibly popular. Also i miss seeing that aesthetic! I honestly like the concept of the Switch Online app because of the extra stuff theyve added in it for those games, like Splatnet and the Nook thing. I tried it for VC with a friend but it's so pared down that we couldn't do much about it not working or know why, and it was too much hassle to set up compared to just calling each other lol. But I'm a big fan of having extra connectivity on a different device and i reckon a text chat would be really good on there - maybe it's the place for a Pictochat reprise!! They should have added more games to it as well, or the generic Switch online features - it's just been left far too limited/basic for what it's supposed to do

For anybody wanting to know about FEH, it’s evolved into such a different game than how it was in 2017 when it released. It went from being the most simple watered down Fire Emblem gameplay to being the most convoluted and insanely complicated gameplay. For example a Book 1 unit in FEH would have a skill like death blow which grants +6 attack when the character initiates combat. Nowadays we have stuff like A/S Rein Snap which is a skill for fliers which allows them to get an extra movement if armored or infantry units are close by. PLUS it grants stat decreases to the foe (in this case minus 4 Attack and Speed). And that’s a pretty simple skill for modern FEH. Weapon skills look like this. Dagger of Doom (made this up): Grants -1 special cooldown. At the start of combat grants stat difference to unit based on foes atk/spd. If unit initiates combat foe cannot make a follow up attack and unit makes a guaranteed follow up. If units atk stat is higher than any foe in cardinal directions grants +1 extra movement and discord on foes. If unit defeats any foe, grants Canto 2 and Null Panic on unit and allies within 3 spaces. In 2017 weapons said - Grants +2 Def and Res when adjacent to a dragon ally.

I love the keyboard for New Horizons for example, it’s much faster to type something in the app than in the game. It makes trades and communicating with friends much faster. For Splatoon 2 and 3 I love that it keeps track of your stats, you can redeem points for Wandercrust for outfits (and wallpapers in 2), checking the catalog, and you can check the current and upcoming stages and special events without having to boot up the game. I use the app quite a lot for Splatoon 3, I love checking all my stats and watching my scores improve.

What if Nintendo realised that instead of putting out another main line full console game for animal crossing, that the mobile game is more maluable and in the long run maby even more substainable given that the basic gameplay stays the same each time but there is no story wich could hook new players. It could maby bring in more of the crowd of playes that didn't find it too appealing as a full on game but can see it as a way to relax and turn your brain off once in a while being on the move. Also it is a substantially more fleshed out and may I say full hame than other ones you can get on your mobile device. So at the end of the day you have more from it than any other game.

The only Nintendo mobile games I’ve played are Pokémon GO, Super Mario Run, Dr. Mario World, and Fire Emblem Heroes. Oh, and perhaps Mario Kart Tour!

If u play MK tour again, you should probably change the settings so that you are using the drift button & disable auto item-use (maybe also use landscape)

As a Pikmin Bloom player, it stings when people say that its similar to the "Pokemon Go formula" when its really just the "Niantic formula" because all Niantic games are based around going out and Ingress was the first of their game.

Honorable mention is Part Time UFO. While not made by Nintendo, it was made by HAL the same folks that make Kirby. thought I could mention that since the game got ported to the Nintendo Switch and was published by Nintendo while the mobile phone version was published by HAL themselves

I'm a day 1 FEH player, and it has been the most toxic relationship I have ever been in. Especially compared to Dragalia, which I tried to get into on multiple occasions to no avail, and yet I still hail as one of the most morally correct mobile gacha games. So it felt REALLY weird when the video mentioned the shiftiness of gacha-related microtransactions on the Dragalia section and not on the segment with the highest grossing Nintendo mobile game. Dragalia actually listened to fan feedback, and they would constantly update the game to make it more friendly to the playerbase. Not to mention, there'd be free currency abound. And while the game was VERY grindy (one of the main reasons it never stuck with me), reaching the upper tiers of play was never unachievable. Summoning was easy, you could make 10 summons at a time, and they even moved the Wyrmprints from the summoning pool to their own shop where you could purchase them with the currency you get from summoning duplicate units, which helped reduce bloat. And they handed out free summons like candy. It was absurdly generous. Compare that to FEH, which brings out new units that powercreep the previous month's units, free orbs having grown fewer in number over the years, the summoning pool remaining incredibly bloated with terrible units, Aether Raids and Summoner Duels being nearly impossible to perform well in unless you invest in all the newest premium units that aren't even in the regular summoning pools, new mechanics being relegated to summoning those new units, like Pair Up, Rearmed Heroes, Ascended Heroes, Echo Skills, and most recently, Emblem Heroes. If you don't summon any of these units types, you miss out on stat boosts, better weapons, additional skill slots, and a variety of other effects that will give whales a straight-up advantage over you. The scoring system in many modes relies on you using particular premium units, which again, you must summon for on extremely limited, bloated banners. New, powercreeping skills are being added every banner, which you're expected to summon for to strengthen your currently existing units, which makes it hard to save up orbs to get merges for incomplete units, which itself is absurdly expensive to do. Otherwise, you're going to fall behind. This game is ludicrously unfriendly to F2P players.

I'm one of those people who absolutely LOVES Fire Emblem 😂 I started playing Fire Emblem Heroes in 2020 and it has been quite some time since I last missed a day. It is even officially considered to be a mainline Fire Emblem title

Ok I'll just state that Super Mario Run is more a free to start rather than free to play, since it was earlier on in Nintendo's push to mobile. So they more just have you pay a flat fee and have the whole game. Though is cool they let people try later levels in case you don't want to do that too. (Also jeez, yh as someone is pretty ok at auto-runners, yeesh was that some performance. Guess it made me feel better for my occasional plunders though lol, so ty.)

fire emblem is literally the perfect choice for a mobile game considering how popular turn based + gacha games are in asia alone lol

Mario Run was not a F2P / Microtransaction Game. It was made to pay once and you play everything. The first Levels was the Demo. But it's funny how many ppl complained and called it a "paywall" xD And at the same time there are enough ppl spending 3 digits on actuall F2P Games

animal crossing Pocket Camp is such a fun game. Ive played it for quite awhile now, and the uniqueness of this game compared to the others. Being able to design my camp, as well as my camper and cabin and such. Definitely worth playing

11:33 Super Mario Run actually seems to take its assets from Super Mario Maker, as shown with some elements looking exactly like the NSMBU theme

What sucks about Nintendo mobile games is that the abstract concept still has potential. Many Nintendo games would be a great fit for mobile with some small tweaks. Fire Emblem Heores is a great example of baby's first strategy game that's also plenty generous with it's gacha mechanics. However, it's clear these games were a failsafe in case the switch failed, and since the switch could feasibly be the best selling game console of all time in the near future, the entire initiative was shelved and the games that weren't making the big bucks were cut off. All they need to do is the Super Mario Run approach of a free version that's compromised (locked content, ads, etc.) and a paid verion that gives the player access to everything.

It really hurt when Dragalia Lost closed. I remember farming non-stop the Monster Hunter and Persona collabs, those were the good ol days. It was really a decent gatcha game :')
@akesan23749 ай бұрын
Actually, there is still ways to play Dragalia Lost despite it closing. There's two private servers, Dawnshard (which keeps the game as close to the original serves as possible) and Orchis (which tweaks some characters and effects to make less useful units stronger).

Ok, I played most of these, so I have some experience. Mario Run: It was really surprising to see them get an actual update after so many years, all the others were bug fixes after Remix 10 was added. Fire Emblem Heroes: The money being spent on the game really goes up during the Summer when they are all in beach attire in June and July, and their yearly picks chosen by the players in August. Pocket Camp: There seems to be no breaks between events, giving players a time to rest. Also, the Fortune Cookies end up being the money makers. Dragalia Lost: The story was pretty interesting. I started playing when Fire Emblem Heroes crossed over for the first time. Sad to see it gone though. Dr. Mario World: This is the one I consider the worst of them all and it was really unbalanced. I was not surprised when this one got shut down. Mario Kart Tour: Sadly, this one has no new content since its 4th Anniversary. Everything so far has been a repeat of the third year. They got rid of the major Gacha mechanic over a year ago now. Also, drifting is much easier when you turn on Manual Drift in the Settings page. Pikmin Bloom: It's alright for what it is but you really have to be out and about for it to work.

I miss Miitomo. I know why it was cancelled but it was a lot of fun with my friends and reminded me of Tomodachi Life and Miitopia, which are two of my favorite games. They're silly. Also the only reason I use the Nintendo Switch Online app is to buy Splatoon3 items and get the quest rewards. Just make it Miitomo 2. It would be much better i think

Pocket camp wasn't bad for someone who has been waiting for a new animal crossing game for literal years it's good to know that there was something to fill the void of downtime and the huge gap between games like the last proper game was new leaf until we got new horizons recently but that's not to say that Pocket camp has gone through development hell. originally, it was going to be a game where you built your own town, inviting villagers to stay in the town that you constructed giving the gameplay more of a purpose rather than what we got. don't get me wrong pocket camp is an okay game but it could have been better, but I guess new horizons having that building mechanic that was supposed to be in the mobile game is still cool

Ah, Miitomo memories flood my head now. I was a dumb baby child on the app but I remember the whole Alice VS Jodie war (me participating on team Jodie with Cynyo as my supporting Mii). I also remember when everyone in the comment section saying to play Tomodachi Life because of how similar the two are. And I also remember hosting Miifoto contests in Answer Central and getting HUNDREDS of Miifotos as entries. If you guys have any Miitomo memories you want to share don’t hesitate to reply!
