🎣 I was raised on trout fishing ever since I was like 7 years old and now I'm in my mid 50's here. Trout fishing is really fun to do and I do agree with you, when it comes to trout fishing you need more than one lure or jigs. Tiger trout and rainbow are my two favorite types of trout to catch. Enjoyed watching here

Everything finally fell into place! I know I’ve been talking about this order for like the better part of 6 months but with tight money it’s been falling through. With that I’m happy to say I have a guaranteed $200 order that should be going to you today or tonight, wanted to make it worth your while. I also wanted to say, since I’ve been dying to get some more tackle from you, and it’s a hefty order, I’m gonna be competing in a friendly local fishing derby with exclusively your lures! I’ve fished this derby 2 years prior, very nice wooded valley pond with some lily patches, stocked fish, and minimal reeds. It has everything from perch, crappie, 2 catfish species, bass, everything but trout I believe. Anyhow, hope you enjoy your day, love and light to you and your family, and thank you for the awesome videos ❤ -Vince

Man... I've done that! At least when I got to the lake I had several rods. No tackle box, but at least 3 - 4 lures to throw. I do have to say that it also seems SOOO weird, awkward and backwards to me that you cast a spinning reel with your right hand and then also reel with your right hand. (I have read your comment answer relating to that issue and I AGREE 100%). NOT nearly as weird and awkward as seeing someone fishing a spinning reel upside down and reeling BACKWARDS! Do you feel me?! As an adult, my first rod and reel was a spinning combo. Fortunately for me, I learned how to cast with my right hand and reel with my left. It felt perfectly natural and still does. Within a year, I was really getting into bass fishing and a sporting goods store salesman talked me into buying a baitcaster. That was in 1981. There were no left handed baitcasters back then. He showed me how to adjust the reel and answered my question regarding casting and reeling as a right hander. Of course, you have to either learn to cast left handed or learn how to switch hands quickly after the cast. I totally get the muscle memory thing! I'm so proficient at switching hands right at the end of the cast that I can cast a buzzbait and start it moving on top of the water as soon as it hits! (Barring a backlash!) I'd love to try a "left handed" baitcaster but can't rationalize the $$$ with all of the gear I already own and the fact that I really don't get a chance to bass fish for bass 2 lbs. and up hardly at all anymore. I still use 2 baitcasters that are over 35 years old! I did get a new bait casting rig as a retirement gift to myself, but chickened out and chose a right handed retrieve reel. Honestly, I like reeling with my right hand. A lot of times when I'm ultra lite fishing, my right wrist gets tired so I throw a baitcaster just to give my right wrist a rest! (..and hope that one of the two or three bass over 2 lbs. that live in the pond may bite my lure). I have seriously thought about a bait finesse combo. If I get some money from somewhere I think I will give that a go, and actually try the left hand reel baitcaster on that. It seems like the sweet spot for a decent combo is around $400, so that may be a while for this retiree. ...I ramble on... Good to see you back after the winter! Look forward to many more videos and some new products! FISH ON! (By the way.. Love the colab with John Dalton. I don't really enjoy just watching two guys sit around and talk, but do watch your "show" every month. I think you might want to invest in a higher res webcam, though.) Blessings!
@FishAnything7 ай бұрын
Thank you for taking the time to share all of this, Chip! 1) I agree with you 100% on casting/reeling. It’s all about what you learn with and what feels right to you. 2) I got a new webcam and hope it improves things a bit!

@FishAnything7 ай бұрын
That depends... If it is 8lb braid, you should be totally fine. If it is 8lb of a different type of line, I would argue it is too heavy and thick of a diameter to fish on ultralight effectively. High diameter lines reduce casting distance for light lures a lot.
