I recently took a family trip to northern Michigan for some vacation time on a beautiful lake. I didn't get a chance to bring my kayak, but I was able to manage the paddle board and a couple of fishing poles. When time allowed, I got out and did some fishing! In today's video, you will see what I got into.
After the first couple outings, I decided that it was time to rig up the ultralight drop shot rig. This rig has always been really good to me, but I knew it would specifically shine here due to the deep water and abundance of fish on the drop off. I caught too many fish to count!

Rock Bass may not be the most popular fish, but I tell you what... When you just want to catch fish and have a good time, I don't think you can go wrong. They school up in large groups and feed aggressively, making for a really great time on the water. Surprised I never managed a Smallmouth but I did find a few random Yellow Perch which was neat.
