👋 , Better Help is great for people with money, But if you don’t have money, listen to music and watch KZbin, and if you don’t have friends or family to talk to, find something that you enjoy doing, 10/12 years of mental and psychological abuse, I am English living in France, and can speak French, so no one to speak to, I listen to my music through my transmission line loudspeaker cabinets that I made, they sound amazing, A Great use for the compound mitre router bit, Even one better still, but extremely expensive, Litze , German tool manufacturer , not sure if I have spelt it correctly, Keep up the great work, stay safe and enjoy music it helps,

I bought a similar bit three years ago and I had a small router table that used the rotating collar on my dewalt router to make adjustments. I struggled with setup but made a 1/2" plywood cabinet and really liked the corners. Now I have a router lift in a large work bench but it's in storage until my new house and shop are built. I look froward to trying it again with the new setup.

I am sorry for your loss, sadly I can relate to it all too well. I also had no luck with miters, until I built a dedicated cross cut sled. I also don`t use the digital angle-finder, I use a 45 ruler. it is much more accurate for setting the table saw angle. now, with my dedicated sled, I get PERFECT miters every time- on a not-that-good table saw. and if by mistake the saw is not 45, I cant slip the sled through and get the material ready for cutting, and it lets me know I need to adjust it. very quick set-up, consistent and very good results.

I like the video and the build. I will definitely have to put a medical cabinet in my shop, way overdue. As for the router bit, each to his own really. I'm trying to use my router more, but continue to use the table saw because, to me, it is quicker to set up and I feel as if I have more control with it (just not enough practice with a router I suppose).

Hey Pierre, great video as always! It might be worth keeping a small bottle/tube of super glue in your cabinet as well. It works great for sealing smaller cuts (like the size of a papercut), where you get a twinge of pain every time your skin moves. I really wish I could get that PVC board (or whatever it is) here in the states. It would definitely come in handy for some projects I've had in mind recently.

I prefer to use something like the LTX tape instead of regular bandaids. It's a tape that only sticks to itself and not to the skin, so it doesn't leave any annoying adhesive residues. The only downside is that from what I have seen it only comes in "skin" color or blue, black certainly looks a bit better!

IMO, miters on the table saw or miter saw, if table saw, offcut side for safety, and lots of practice. Just too fiddly on the router unless you're doing a lot of the same cut. For real short runs (one), short edges and serious precision... shooting board with support for miters.

This bit confuses me as I would have thought a simple 45° router bit would do the mitre. This bit seems to give a different profile for enhanced gluing / surface area, but if we’re just thinking about basic mitre to compete with the table saw, then I’m not sure why the simple bit wouldn’t be the option here?
@michab4083
@michab4083 24 күн бұрын
It's not just a replacement for a 45 degree cut on a table saw but actually an improvement because two sides are locked together in this miter, making clamping much easier than for a standard miter while at the same t7me enhancing its strength.

Normal bandaids look awful with time because they become dirty. It is a great signal to change one. Once you will have a bacterial infection you will throw away all these black bandaids 😊 Also, it is a great idea to practice using items in your new and shiny first aid kit. So I use superglue on my cuts, I've spoken to a few doctor friends who agreed with it... They best way to use it is to out a few drops on any blood that comes out to form a superglue scab. I started doing this afyer i went to the ER once and thats exactly what they used. I asked wht the adhesive was and they said cynoacrilate (medical grade superglue is slight different than the shop stuff, but not that much) You can reaserch it if you feel sceptical about this and you'll find a lot of stydies that corroborate the safety of this method. If the cut is big a few steristrips and superglue on top works great. I keep them in my shop too! Might have to make a fancy cabinet for it like you did 😍
