Us reason users (out here on our island lol) been doing it for years, they recently updated with more knobs n styles, but the OG combinator has been around since like reason 3.0, n u cud always build the plug ins n use custom skins n all, but the combinator 2 just takes it all to “11” lol

reason+ seems to have a good workflow for making synths and effects like that :) it should be mentioned though that "plugins" made with reason are not VST plugins. They can only be used within reason. I'd like to suggest to you Blue Cat Plug'n Script, which actually is a plugin that lets you make plugins, literally. But it's a bit harder to use than reason

i found a DAW that lets you create every thing you want c: Bitwig studio you can modulate everything, can use containers for creating layers of sounds and effects, and you can MODULATE and MODULATE MODULATION and can bild EVERTYTHING you can imagen you can use simple stock sampler like monophonic sampler, but also like multisampler and also you can make from that same sampler a synth by five seconds.. from simle sampler to the most advanced synth with any effect (and thats effects can be modulate and can modulate each other and so one and one)

The oldest effects device in Reason work great for lofi effect. Just slap a Unison on piano and instant lofi piano achieved.

It's functionality is almost the same as built-in plugin "patcher" in FL Studio. EDIT: I see now that I was not the first to comment this :D Patcher allows to combine and connect any input output of any plugin (generator / effect) and then create custom user interface. So you can create non-linear effect chains and generators or mix of both.

@@kyledege315 Maby but you can get close, main thing is natral timming ie not keeping notes 100% on the grid. Also Ed's guitar dont even sound natural anyway as its multi layered and chopped up. It's not the same as a one take guitar part so doing that sound without a real guitar wouldn't make much difference to the end result.

@@HOLLASOUNDS even if his guitar is chopped up its still real. You are hearing the interaction of the string and how it is being manipulated by the pick, fingers, ect. There is fret noise, the noise of your fingers sliding across the fret board. There's a lot of articulations daws can't really imitate well. Like hammer one and pull offs. Or bending the strings. Guitar has a level of realness that just isn't there with vsts. The vsts will usually sound cleaner because they lack all of the guitars imperfections that make it so unique.

yo i'm searching for an 1-click option to browse through a folder of drum samples playing to the sequenced drum midi pattern in ableton .....propellerheads reason was my first daw and in reasons redrum you could browse through the chosen drumfolder and change the used drumsample with 1-click ...abletons hot swap function needs 2-clicks (cursor + enter)....is there a faster way or an vst which can do it with just 1-click so i can browse fast through drumsamples playing to the midi-sequence?

Patcher copied Reasons original Combinator from over 10 years ago. The Combinator 2 is new for the latest version of Reason which is 12. The original Combinator come in Reason 3.

Its part of the daw reason, or i think if you dont want the whole “daw” u can just get the device rack as a vst now, but i dont think the price is much different, so its worth it to just get the whole daw i think so u get the SSL mixer too (which is also great), the do a subscription thing now too i think where u can get everything for like 20$ a month, i actually own it, so the subscription n vst stuff isn’t relevant to me but im pretty sure thats deal cause i get emails about it all
